    fuel surcharge LOL

I've noticed the FSC we have been getting on loads actually cover appoximately one half the fuel need to deliver the loaded miles given. When calculating to get the percentage I use only the loaded miles given.

Got a load Tuesday to Grand Island, NE from there we shot over to Waterloo yesterday and picked up a load to Indy, dropped it this morning at 6am and are picking up a load to Wixom, Mi this afternoon. 911

I called 911 last week to report a bycicle lying in the middle of the interstate. It had obviously fallen off of a moving truck. Was afraid it would cause an accident if not moved. Traffic was swerving to avoid it as it was right smack in the middle kind of in both lanes. Would have stopped to...

Introduction and in need of help

Not only did the Swift school graduates from the TN driving schools cdls's come into question but some (if not all, I can only speak for one I know) where sent letters stating their cdls were invalid and they would have to retest. :(

Introduction and in need of help

Well, if USA is going to let him sit for week, months, or possibly always it is better to go with someone else. In this case the driver might consider taking a small loan to pay the cdl training off. He could then just make small monthly payments for say 2 to 5 years and drive for whomever he...

    how many miles?

We're a team straight truck with Tri-State. We are getting around 1500 to 2000 miles a week. Right now miles are really bad. We're getting about half of what we should be getting. Got to remember Jan and Feb are the worst expediting months, add a bad economy on top of that and miles are on a...

Introduction and in need of help

Unfortunately there are a lot of carriers doing exactly what USA is doing. They tell a potential driver he/she is hired, send them through the schooling only to tell them at the end they have no available trucks. The driver can either sit at home and wait for the company to eventually call or...

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

Friends of ours has one like yours. it is an awesomely nice truck. Ours is pretty much the same only it has tall cabinets instead of the upper bunk, and the air conditoner/ heater is not in the ceiling. Would actually prefer it like you in the ceiling as it would probably cool and heat better...

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

Well, I think we make a pretty good living considering the ecomony. As for as "come and gone", been here 3 years and have no intention of going anywhere, and having driven for a dishonest fleet owner that still owes us a rather large some of money I would say "on time pay" makes a very good...

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

Ok, I am going by what I hear complaints on. From what I understand owners want drivers (and if you look at the classifieds her on EO you will see a lot of them say "must be willing to stay out for 3 weeks" ect) is drivers that don't have to be home every week, who can and will stay out on the...

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

We carry 10,500 pds. Same as the big red Kenworth that didn't even have a tv or microwave. If owners want us to stay out for months at time it is nice to have amenities to make it easier to stay out.

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

NO, This thread is to praise truck owners, we hear enough of the bad. Let me know how to change my wording if you are reading it as a slam session. Why do I praise my truck owner, because I have drove for the other and was burned. My present truck owner is an elderly retired gentleman, (that...

    what is bull crap

Again, wingnut you are 100% right! There are bad drivers and bad owners. I have ran into both on the road. I have heard the complaints from drivers that complain they are not making any money only to find from talking with them it is their own fault. If they are dropping out to go...

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

So many times we drivers go online and read and post all the terror stories of bad truck owners who have damaged us. It is all to common to read of drivers not getting paid, not having fuel money, overcharged for expenses, ect. . . the list goes on and on. Today why not hear from drivers that...

    what is bull crap

Good for you Wingnut! I think there are a lot of great truck owners that do try to be fair. Unfortunately we hear little of the good ones. When someone goes online to post about an owner it is because they have been damaged by that particular owner. Most don't think to let everyone know about...

    what is bull crap

Yes, I do agree with you Doggie Daddy. However, there are those of us that are naive enough to believe what we are told by the truck owner when we speak with them on the phone IS actually what will be in the contract we will be signing at the orientation. A lot of truck owners (fleet) leave...
