    express - 1

Got friends that run a straight truck with Express 1. They like them well enough. Always trying to talk us into going over with them (we kinda like it where we are with T-State). Got to say they have been runing rings around us with miles, don't know if they might be stretchen it or not but...

    Is this normal?

 If someone has been sitting for 30 days then it is their fault. If I am sitting for a couple days I am going to actively be moving to a better location looking for a load. Why would anyone sit like that? Nope, doesn't make since to me! Remember folks "when these wheels ain't a turnin...

We have Cingular/At&t and like it. Don't seem to have any problems with it so far, had for a few years now.

    Home away from Home?

Would work, you would only have to pay for the nights you stay, you wouldn't have all of the bills associated with home like electric, cable, water, gas, ect, but you would not actually have an address or a place to call home. You, for all purposes, would be homeless. I personally like knowing I...

    Home away from Home?

Your right, Ohio, and also Michigan, are right smack in the middle of the freight line. That is probably where you will end up more than anywhere else. Guess that is why most of the bigger carriers like Panther ll, Tri-State and Express 1 are located in this area. It would be your best bet if...

    Anyone moving

Jeez, why would you turn down a load that was probably between 700 or 800 miles? That is not a bad location, we always get freight out of Oklahoma. Snow, sleet, rain, or wind wouldn't keep me off that load! :D

    reduced rates

:D We are with T-State, our rate recently went from 1.20 per mile (straight-truck) to 1.05 per mile or 65% of the load haul. Now, the way I am seeing this is whatever Tri-State gets paid for the load the truck receives 65% of and Tri-State receives 35%. So if Tri-State can get more for the load...

    Is this normal?

Yep, seems to be the norm. When we originally started driving with Panther ll, during the orientation we were told after being off for over 30 days a driver would be required to re-take orientation (there was also a guy that was re-taking orientation at the time because he had been off for over...

lol todays first reduced rate offer

Ahhhh, NO! lol We found out last week when we were in Monroe Michigan the heat is not real good in this truck! It was -10 and we nearly froze. Last I saw it was like -40 in MN. Still love my truck though! :D Wouldn't ya know the Michigan weather followed us! It is actually snowing (and ice)...

    When do you Sleep/

lol We're a team so I probably don't count ;) but usually after being in the truck for 2 or three months I'll treat myself to a night or two at home always better then a motel room and much more comfortable! lol Sure wish I could afford a night or two after 2 weeks. :D

lol todays first reduced rate offer

Don't worry, if T-State gets you a load they will call you. We have been given the old 8 hour before and less then 10 minutes later they called us with a load offer! lol If they let you sit for 8 hours it is because they did not have a load for you anyway! :D

    Drivers/Owners situation

When looking at your pay load you also have to take into account all of the loads you have taken where the owner made a profit off the FSC. There are going to be some loads, when going 60/40, where the owner makes a killing and others where the owner takes a loss. It balances out in the long...

lol todays first reduced rate offer

Right now I would be happy for ANY load offer, reduced rate or not. We (my husband and I) have hardly had any loads since a week before Thanksgiving. We have had 7 loads this year all small 400, 500 and 600 milers. Been sitting since Saturday here in Kenly, NC 3rd out. At least reduced rate is...

What is FedEx CC "Qualified" and What Does it Involve?

Yes, we were wanting to know what this "custom critical" and "white glove" meant also. We are with Tri-State and are no longer looking for a fleet as we drive for the best now, :) but when we were looking we kept seeing this "must be custom critical qualified" and "white glove" qualified. Is...

    anyone getting loads?

We are with TriState. We have friends sitting in Toledo since before Christmas. They were 6 on board now 1st out. Offered one 57 mile load. We have had 2 loads totaling 1100 miles since Dec 29th. It is going to be bad until after the 20th for all of us expediters I don't think it matters which...
