CDL newby looking to purchase an expeditor and go to work Advice?

It is a mixed bag as far as what they pay. I would still recommend driving for someone and then you will gain experience and find a company that fits your needs without a huge cash outlay. You may find this worth reading since it is current...

    Stupid American Voters

That is what I get out of it. Like I said, hopefully people are starting to see them for what they have been all along. And here at least they admit what they are doing. Yep, "you can keep your plan and doctor". lol

CDL newby looking to purchase an expeditor and go to work Advice?

Probably won't like my answer. 15k basically means you have no money. You would be buying junk and then have to have the money in reserve to fix it. Save your money and drive for someone else and get alittle more road experience unless you just want to broker loads. Still need the broker bond...

    Stupid American Voters

Deception is their mantra on basically everything they are associated with. With the results of the midterms, I think some are finally starting to see it.

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

It is always hard to quantify a amount for someone with quite a few variables involved. As mentioned, the less debt you carry the better for a single truck operator. Six months of expenses saved would be my minimum. One also have to remember that if the truck isn't moving because of a wreck...

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

Undercapitalization is the largest reason for trucking failures. Family issues and health problems are there but much farther back. All to often folks get that new truck and do well the first and second year. Then things change when they are still making payments on a truck and repairs start to...

    How to get a load

I'm not sure? The wife and I drove it for awhile and had a team in it for several years. Sold it when it had 950k on the clock. Who would have guessed a baby Cat would last that long. Was running well when we sold it.

    How to get a load

No. That particular truck wasn't from Jeff Jones. I bought it from a amateur stock car racer that was using to haul his race car. It had 16k on the odometer. I pulled the original box off and sold it and used a box off of a freightliner I had. Took the FL and turned it into a tow truck and sold...

    Businesses don't create jobs?

I would agree, that raising the minimum wage nets really nothing at all. The difference between 8 and ten dollars an hour still means you have the same amount of poor people. If the problem is ever to be fixed, you have to remove the handouts and replace them with training in jobs that pay...

    Businesses don't create jobs?

Sure you do. They are the fastest growing economies. Just for the reason I stated. Small and large alike. Less regulation and labor is cheaper. Much easier to launch a business there than it is here.

    Businesses don't create jobs?

Sure. Happens all the time. Just have to know your market. How Big Companies Thrive In The Third World (COKE,PEP,AAPL) Business will continue to thrive there because there is less regulation and labor is considerably cheaper. Substituting "your reality" doesn't change the actual facts.

    Businesses don't create jobs?

Saying that business wouldn't succeed without government would be a socialist concept. Turtle is correct, roads prior to government involvement has been completed by private industry. Without the taxes of those companies now, you would have a problem maintaining any of them. As for the welfare...
