Re: Are Any Expedited Carriers Concerned with keeping on Own/Op with current low rate But isn't the dead head pay only $.40? FDCC's is $.75 plus FSC.

Big Truck Add An Axle ?

I saw one of these in use recently and my first thought was, "I sure hope that receiver hitch mounted to the SUV is rated for a load that heavy". It was being used on a Jeep Cherokee pulling a 40 foot loaded cattle trailer.

    New DPF

Tom Nehl is my local Freightliner dealer. I have found them to be fair, competent and reasonable for a Freightliner Dealership. I prefer North Florida Truck parts, the shop across the street for most of my repairs and service. Better prices and a couple of really good mechanics.

    Conference call for surface fleet

I've been getting the impression that surface loads will be the "nothing special loads" that are only needed quickly and we are going to be paid to run them at a rate competitive to other expedite carriers. Hopefully this will make FedEx more competitive and we will get more loads. The special...

My Driver got in Accident, carrier most likely will release.... What to do next?

Wow. 62,000 miles in 5 months as a solo in a sprinter. I'm happy to get that as a team in a straight truck. Glad to hear she is out of the hospital and I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Last three runs. 5 miles DH. 32 miles loaded. 37 miles total. Pay $153.31 New pay plan would pay $175.00. 759 miles DH. 1628 miles loaded. 2387 miles total. Pay $3461.15. New pay plan would pay $3395.35. (Load was HAZMAT) 178 miles DH. 595 miles loaded. 773 miles total. Pay $1151.77. New pay...

Panther offered $1.40 a loaded mile plus FSC. $.40 for deadhead miles from mile 1. That is for a team truck with HAZMAT and lift gate. At 20% deadhead that is slightly less than I will get at FedEx. Plus I will get all tolls reimbursed and an additional $75 for HAZMAT. I think they pay $275 for...

    Undecided % or straight pay

That's correct. No negotiation. You get the rate offered according to your pay plan. So a percentage truck will see different rates than a flat rate truck. Maybe better, maybe worse.

    Undecided % or straight pay

    I'll take take $75 for HAZMAT. On a 300 mile run that's $.25 a mile. On a 1000 mile run that's still $.075 a mile.

    Undecided % or straight pay

How many of those loads were negotiated? My understanding is the loads will be offered on percentage to trucks that are on percentage and at flat rate to trucks that are on flat rate. Meaning percentage trucks will still see those discounted $.90 rates but flat rate will not. Since there will be...

    Dang gum scanners!

I have not yet bought a scanner. I stop at a T/A or Petro and scan my paperwork. If no truck stop scanners are available I use the app on my phone. I have had no problems as of this time.

    Landstar question

When we were at Landstar the agents offered you what they had that you could carry. There is a load board that you can access with all the loads they are trying to cover. If you see a load that you want and will fit on your truck you call the agent and book the load. Any of the 800 plus Landstar...
