    About LRT Expedite

If he, or his company, file for any type of bankruptcy protection, the creditor (in this case, a driver or O/O) is required by the debtor to be listed as a liability. After the filing in a US Bankruptcy court, the case is assigned to a Trustee, who sends out notice of the filing, which contains...

    About LRT Expedite

By your logic, the gas station that the O/O fuels up at can also look to the shipper, if he fails to pay for the gas he filled up with to complete the shipment. We're not talking mechanic's liens here, and I doubt that you're correct. Prove me wrong.

    About LRT Expedite

Looks like fastman beat me to it. A lawyer may eat up all you have coming, but it's a thought.....again, on principle. The 'get in line' thing is spot-on.

    About LRT Expedite

Do you retain copies of bills of lading? One thought, mentioned by another carrier's owner, is to go directly to the shipper to get paid. Also, you might want to find out if the company owned anything. You can file a small claim in court, but I'd be willing to bet that the company owned...

I think the more important point, in Zorry's scenario, is that he was on a secure load. Someone, in that situation, is in the cab anyhow, burning log time, driving or not. And Moose, that ambulance chaser might be begging for a hot meal. I'll see him/her with my insurance company lawyer, and...

You are spot-on. Since I rarely, if ever, move faster than 60 mph, I always look at a mile per minute. You are correct, and I was not. Glad that's over. I was due for this year.

Cheri- On a paper log, it would simply be a notation, I believe. Not sure where L-1 is on the new Qualcomms or similar, but there is a circle that we can darken that reflects off-duty driving. Further, a macro 12 (I believe....maybe 25...not sure...not with truck) that we send is to place us...

Negative. If I understand your post correctly, your truck was laden. The person in the cab is on-duty.

    log book questions

For reasons that I won't discuss here, no I would not have. However, if I'm away from home, between loads, running around town for groceries ( or whatever), I would still be logging off-duty driving. Should I get the call for any load that I accept, I would then go on duty. Nothing to...

    log book questions

Have to disagree on the logging. My bride and I just deadheaded home just shy of 3,000 miles. We started each day by logging off-duty driving. Coincidentally, we had one of those "surprise inspections" just 200 miles from home, with a LEO that appeared bent on writing us for improper logging...

    Regulations v Education or Attiude

Huh? My dog's overweight, but she's got a great attitude. She doesn't run for Load-1 either, and this comment has as much to do with the OP's question as yours does. Jus' sayin'.

    Scale question

This portion of the thread is almost deserving of starting a new one. Driver awareness, safety, and the general public driving near you, or some such. Any volunteers? I'm gonna have to wholeheartedly agree with Turtle on the Hazmat thing. The more the general public is educated about those...
