    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

Ha. I like Phil's truck, but I want a Cali truck. I want to keep all my trucks 48 state legal and ready to go. My next will also be new and probably a surface unit. I don't know white glove well enough to spend the money on it. Maybe when I have 3 or 4 I'll look into a DR unit.

    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

T-660/cat. Old es truck. Gonna try to add on a second truck by the end of the year. Looking at cascadia and western star. I was looking at the volvo's, but stopped. Maybe I should look into them again. I really like their emphasis on safety and the I-shift/d13 combo. I didn't think you could run...

    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

What do they run? We have a d unit and sit right at 11,800. If you have a dr and are over that I know you can get a heavier suspension, axles and tires but wouldn't that cause you to have to stop at every weigh station and show them your not "over weight"? Are there places you can't run over...

    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

You can buy the volvo's at the necessary length, you don't have to stretch them, but being an all steel cab and having such a far back front axle placement they are very nose heavy and tend to be difficult to balance out for a longer frame with a 12,000 lb front axle. We looked at them but the...

    Tval- br units, help please?

You could always buy a used class 8 d-unit. You'd spend way less than $100k and have a much nicer living space. Plus it'd probably last longer than a new BR will.

I've run paccar parts to Canada. What do they build up there if it's an American built truck? Or does Canada count in "made in America?"

Motion sickness for a newbie team

Unisom sleep pills if you want help to sleep. They are same as Tylenol pm and Advil pm with out the pain killer. We keep them in truck but usually don't need them now that we are used to sleeping with the vehicle in motion. I only use when I've had a bad night or 2 and need some good sleep. We...

    Today's Weekly Bulletin

I mostly agree with the 1st part of your comment, but I think attacking the people in green isn't fair. Those people work for fedex, we work with fedex. The employee- employer relationship is drastically different than ours is to fedex. They do have supervisors and managers to answer to on a...

I just drove past it on the west bound. Looks like it'll be open soon. They were using a front loader tractor to gather the last few parts and pieces scattered around.

2013: What place did you visit this year that was amazing?

Portland, OR for above reasons. Buffalo, NY. Truck broke down and we got a 4-day weekend to explore. Niagra Falls is quite large and impressive. Las Vegas, NV. I lost a lot of money so it's just an honorable mention.

Advise on Cargo Van "vs" Staright Truck?

Tractor trailer would probably be best earning potential and would cost less than a fully loaded ST.

Hello FedEx veterans, need some advice... We took a load to Edmonton early this week and are still here. We have had 3 load oops that have all canceled. Is this normal for being in Canada? Should we have just deadheaded back to the states? Any advice would be appreciated.
