    Panthers 1st outs stink

Panther boards will say 24 average out of Detroit a day, out to Windsor maybe. We tell our drivers to drop and move to Grand Rapids or Fort Wayne. But people get caught sometimes thinking that 24 loads and they are 17 that they for sure will get out if they take a little time. I believe you...

    Medications / Rules

Good for you chop. I have two children on Aterol and it took bouncing around from medication to medication to get to Aterol and that seems to do the trick for ADHD. They sleep well at night. We were also told for ADHD drinking a pop now and then can actually help level you out.

    Obamma Yupper

I personally believe that the country runs best with a Democrat for president and a Republican controlled Congress (See Bill Clintons first term, I believe) not the other way around. After Bush / Cheney, there is something about McCain I don't trust. I'm hoping that Obama will go after someone...

    Driving for a Fleet Owner

We have a fleet of vans with Panther and I try to always be accessible between my home and cell, my wife's cell, fathers cell, and father in laws cell. Our drivers have all of this information. For the most part I don't think there are complaints from the drivers that are doing their jobs...

    update from ctx post

I go to this site to post ads when we need drivers for Panther, and in general just like to read the posts of more knowledgeable people and learn. I own vans with Panther and have had bad drivers / and have probably handled situations with drivers bad in the past. However, we all have to learn...

    3% of trucking capacity GONE

My Dad and I were curious as to the percentage of companies going out of business this year. Thanks for the info. We have 17 vans on with Panther. We just seem to be barely hanging on now. We feel like our overhead is as low as it can go. But we still pay for fuel for a lot of the drivers...

Diesel cargo Van VS Gas cargo Van.

The above reasons mentioned by diesel are the reasons we dumped our two diesel cargo vans recently for gassers.

Another Couple Of Months Of No Work I Hear

For what its worth, after reading the forum and speaking to a couple of our drivers I called some people at Panther on our team and they are saying that they predict that this summer to be very busy. I know its all heresay but I'm sure with the increased production of Toyota and some of their...

    Bad drivers.....

Ouch Charlotte, you are picking on me and using my post in yours:). You are right to an extent as the owner does need to do as much screening as possible and we try. However being in the business you know that most of this work is done over the phone and yes you can get a feel for someone but...

    Bad drivers.....

    >I have quite often thought about putting on another van BUT >show me the money!!! There's hardly enough profit from an >O/O's standpoint let alone pay out 60/40. I thought maybe a >70/30 split would work better with driver paying fuel to >keep drivers "cruisin" down. But even one major...

    Bad drivers.....

Ooooh, I don't know but being a fleet owner with 15 vans obviously gets me a lot of turnover as I have only vans. I like most people think we are good owners and treat our drivers as good as possible. However it is true when times are lean it does bring out the worst in people and issues get...

Diesel cargo Van VS Gas cargo Van.

We have 15 vans in our fleet. All but one are the Chevy/GMC 5.7 V8 engine and it (as long as it is taken care of; i.e. routine maintenance) seems to be a very stable and long running engine compared to the 5.4 Ford or yuck, Dodge. All that said, I guess I own the old equipment referred to...

Diesel cargo Van VS Gas cargo Van.

We have or actually had 2 diesel vans and they both gunked up and shut down this winter even though the drivers were adding the additives. We had a shop say they had 10 diesels in on one day that had the same problem. True you don't have to mess with tune ups and right now the cost fuel wise is...

    Bad drivers.....

I'm new to the forum but this is an interesting topic. We have a fleet of cargos with Panther and it gets frustrating when you get 2 or 3 drivers that are not worth anything and you spend the money to get them going (orientation, fuel, advances) and then they leave or you make the choice to get...

    cargo vans (panther)

You should be able to as we just put a 1999 with very low miles on with Panther.

Another Couple Of Months Of No Work I Hear

I am new to the forum but have been a cargo van fleet owner for 4 years with Panther (all cargos). I had a couple calls last week from Fed Ex drivers who were looking to switch to Panther because they were slow. I am sure that there is a lot to the equation (economy slow, too many vans, type...

Diesel cargo Van VS Gas cargo Van.

We have both gas and diesel cargo vans in our fleet with Panther and I believe that unless the company is paying you a little more to operate the diesel, then stick with a 1 ton gas. We run the 3500 Express with the 5.7 engine and as long as you have regular oil changes we have 2 vans that hit...
