    How you talk/where you're from

I noticed as I was taking the test that being a driver complicates things. The one that stands out for me is "service drive" vs "frontage rd". I went with the term I used before I was a driver but now that I've seen more of the country I'm comfortable with either term.

    How liberals argue

You've got it backwards. I don't watch "News"/opinion TV. Last night I watched part 1 of Tim Burton's Civil War thingy. I thought it was very good and I'll watch part 2 tonight. Where does your brainwashing come from? You seem to be addicted to outrage so I'm guessing Fox "News". :)

    How liberals argue

All that may be true Turtle, and I don't doubt that it is but like you pretty much said, ruling on petty things or helping to resolve a marital dispute is one thing and sentencing someone for a serious crime is quite another. If they kill someone they'll have to answer for murder and if they...

    How liberals argue

You guys watch too much TV. If these so called sharia courts try to carry out sentences that violate the laws of the country they're in they'll be rounded up like common criminals. eg If they stone a woman they'll find themselves in a real court for murder. Like the woman around 2/3 of the...

    Watch that freedom of speech

This time of year is seems like everyone and their brother is coming out with top 10 lists and self-improvement lists and the like. I read one the other day that advised dropping all forums. Not only do you save the time you spend reading and writing posts, there's one less thing to think...

    How liberals argue

You must be bored. :) I followed along and had a laugh or two until 47 seconds into the video when the clown on the right said something ridiculous about Europe coming under sharia law. Application of sharia law by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia When people of a particular...

    Railroad Alaska

Did you forget to include a link? Btw, a pretty good computer game was Railroad Tycoon. The real fun was being a robber baron (Extract every last penny you can from your company and then run it into the ground, sell your stock and then short it on the way down? You betcha! :)) Nice trains...

    Have a bucket handy

I like your final paragraph - a lot. No, not the Mentor loses one-liner, that sucks. :) I can imagine how not sounding "preachy' can be a bugger. You don't btw! :) Merry Christmas!

    Who's Missing ?

I'm pretty sure that turned out ok. I was tempted to ask him how it was going but I was afraid to aggravate what might be an open wound. I was happy to see him posting again a week or so later as if nothing was wrong.

    1) It's not an all-in or all-out (binary) question. From an historical perspective I'm sure the Bible is is an incredible tool. I distrust this kind of situation though. Gather 10 people in a room and before you know it, one guy is quoting Mathew to prove a point and another is quoting Paul...

    Have a bucket handy

Yeah but all this reminds me of Muslin suicide bombers - in order to earn the blessings of God (Allah) they must smite down those that don't live as some book assembled by people with political and financial aspirations and cherry picked by similar people says they should. To me it all adds up...

    Perfect Coffee Cup

I just broke my 30 year old adjustable cup holder. Apparently, "in order to serve us better", all they sell now are 2fers. It's like a mini console with 2 adjustable cup holders. It's too big. It takes up too much room. Whaaaaaa! :) I laugh but I really am bummed. We went though quite a...

    Lookin For A Recipe

Nothing specific but I'm a pancake lover. I usually use bisquick. I can imagine just adding cream corn to the regular recipe turning out good. Avoid the low fat bisquick. It's sacrilege.

    Have a bucket handy

Why do people read the Bible? So they can cherry pick and justify how they think and feel? Why do people "belong" to one church or another? Trying to follow the Golden Rule and remembering that "there, but for the grace of God, go you" is enough for most of us.

Arrogance is underrated. :) Just speaking for myself, maybe I misunderstood the title of this thread. Is the bucket so we can exercise a little humility and wash feet?

    Phil Robertson - Duck Dynasty

I found them on Roku last night (Amazon Prime iirc) and watched episode 2 from season 1. They had the grandkids clear a football field and a kid with a funny name took over CEO duties and it didn't go well. So let me see. The grandkids were learning the value of hard work and the kid with the...
