Oh, and I just changes avatar. Been with Landstar for several months now. Out with the Custom Critical and in with the Critical Custom (van).

Should have used water based varnish and not oil based on the wood pieces. It would be easier to touchup. Went for the woodie look inside. But it will scratch up in time.

We have done okay with ours. We have it built out with fridge, micro, beds, dual battery power pack with 2800W inverter and 5/8's inch wood floor with 24" tall side bins down both sides and three large wooden cabinets for pantry, closet etc. With us included that makes about 1000# extra. This...

    Cargo Van Dodge ProMaster

So far so good. We have logged 11000 miles without any real problems except the brakes squeal like a NY City Metro Bus. Almost everyone on the Dodge Forum site have the same issues. Mileage is fair. We switched over to Mobil 1 on the first oil change and our mileage jumped 1mpg. If I drive...

Charlotte and Atlanta at a all time low been stuck for 7 days...

We usually don't sit too long in one spot. If we are in Atlanta, we start driving North. If we end up in Dallas we will wait a day or maybe two if its early in the week and then start heading to STL. In January, I sat a couple days in Eastern N.C. with no offers so drove to Kings Mountain and...

E-track straps with a shorter lead line, like 1 or 2 feet vs 4 feet.

I just checked Lodi and they have some with a 2' lead that will work nicely. I will order as soon as I know where I will be to receive them. Thanks again.

E-track straps with a shorter lead line, like 1 or 2 feet vs 4 feet.

Thanks for all of the great feedback. I knew someone out there still had their memory. Now where was I headed for this delivery? Oh well, someone will call sooner or later and remind me.

E-track straps with a shorter lead line, like 1 or 2 feet vs 4 feet.

Thats one of my main concerns. Any changes, repairs, or alterations are not allowed as far as I can tell.

E-track straps with a shorter lead line, like 1 or 2 feet vs 4 feet.

Someone a few years back told me where I could get straps for my E-track that had a shorter lead on them. They said I could get some custom ordered the way I wanted. Now (being that I am OLD) I can't remember where they said to get new straps. Anyone got some info for me. It is time to trade...

    Dodge Promaster

Ours has tilt and the wheel will extend upwards. Also the seat has several adjustments tilting the front and rear up and down to fit your needs. Miss the heated seats. May get the swivel adapters for them.

    Dodge Promaster

The PM drives very well but that is a long way from being the end all be all. I will let you know how it does under load. Also, it is a unibody construction so the frame is built into the body. Lets see if it will start bending under repeated loading and being smacked by the less than stellar...

    Dodge Promaster

True. With my big butt in the seat and assorted gear, I'm guessing I will have about 3500#s available. I'm not excited about hauling that much weight around. I am more excited about having the extra height and width. In a two week period I was offered or found on the load board 7 loads that...

I bought one yesterday. Still have to install the e-track, badging, Qualcom etc… Put about 600 miles on it (3500 extended) getting 17.5 mpg but that will change as more miles are driven and under all conditions not just Hwy. We shall see. We decided to take the chance cuz we are crazy that...

    To flush or not (radiator)

Did clean out radiator and condensor at the carwash and it did help. I will do the other stuff this week. The temp gun is a good idea. Thanks

    To flush or not (radiator)

Noticed that our van is running a little warmer than it used to when we sit and idle. Thinking about a radiator flush but not sure if that will help. It may be way to many dead bugs in the grill or weak thermostat or ??? 2010 Chevy with 300,00+ on it 6.0. Heard that the power flushes done at...

So, who's coming to the expo?

We are registered and have a hotel res but it will depend on the freight. We haven't had a run in about 8 days so we need to make $$$ before the month ends and we end up going backwards for July. Note to self "never go to Texas again" Last two trips we delivered then sat for a week. The Fed...

    True crime OTR..

We were driving through Mississippi about 1:30-2:00am on a back highway when someone tried to throw a chunk of concrete(?) through our windshield. We were just past an abandoned gas station and there were no houses anywhere in the area. We could not see any lights around us at all and had not...

You don't have to use it only at Costco service stations, you get points at the other stations unless they are a discount gas station. So we use it at Flying J, Petro etc...

Wow! Stuck in Texas for 3 days, again! Am I ever gonna learn.

We finally got a run to Atlanta area on Thursday morning. The runs we refuse are mostly like two hundred miles of deadhead for a two hundred mile run. You put in 400 miles for 250 dollars. Just not happening. We have been in Dallas area twice in this month and it took 3-4 days to get out...
