    we don’t have teams, solo drivers. Equipment is $35K on average. It’s not great for the amount of work and stress, but keeps my wife busy while rasing kids. I do invest in real estate, but it somewhat boring. Vans keep me up 24/7.

    The van owner can deduct mileage deduction or vehicle expenses+ amortization. The driver can deduct DOT per diem rate per day on his tax return, plus any other business expenses he incurred (assuming the driver receives 1099)

    I am a CPA and have an expediting van with a driver...what a coincident. Yes, you can deduct 0.53 per mile and DOT meal allowances 80% ($63) and you don't need LLC to claim deductions.
