I was trying to get home for the last holiday week, with plenty of notice given, so i could do all of this back than, but with plenty of destination cities around me given, I wasn't thinking getting home would of been too difficult. But, during that time, the loads were going the opposite way...

June idle chit chat and banter and freight hauling

When down south, I usually spray the perimeter of the tires, ground along the tires, and along the sidewalls and tread of the tires close to the ground with ant and roach killer. Works good so far. And don't let a tree branch touch the roof, as they have been known to come in from upstairs as well.

When I was a wee little boy I got hit on my right ear by a golf club as he was swinging backwards. 6 stiches. It hurt..lol...I'm now feeling the repercussions of that, and lack of medical technology back than.

That is true, but you and your wife are very smart people in the business world and it will be just fine. I can picture this truck, with the colors, as you have brought some of the outside color scheme into the inside as well, like many show truck people do. It's going to be sweet. I have to...

It sounds like a beautiful, classy truck, and knowing you both, it will be. But, I have to say as well, you must have a huge set of balls to be spending, or buying a new truck with the way freight is...lol.. the best of luck to you, though..

Exactly. Many times I went from Laredo to McAllen to get a load. All along the border have been good areas for freight. Straight or van.

I think Old Dominion is one of several companies charging extra for freight going into California.

Texas is tough. I know running loads to the border towns usually comes with a longer than usual wait for a load. I've learned to try and plug in at a campground to keep costs down and remain comfortable in the heat. I'm about to do that in a couple of hours if nothing comes up. 2 offers so far...

As I mentioned before, there is a real nice county owned state park surrounded by a lake pretty much, mostly shaded, in kearney, mo, west of the pilot . It's beautiful and perfect. Another one is on 80 in Illinois, east of the pilot in minooka. Privately owned, but real nice. Rv parky and oh...

Maybe I was incorrect, I'd have to look at my 2 year old brochure. But, the way I figure it, 25 bucks, give or take, providing showers that are clean with no wait, peace and quiet, no pee or diesel odors, and a nice place to walk around and get recharged, revitalized, with electric and water...

The Casa Blanca state park on loop 20 in Laredo is an awesome place to kill time and hang out. At 27 bucks a day, it sure beats running the generator and showers are real nice in the newer building. Real relaxing.

Good Friday morning! I am really hoping for another load to finish off the week, something taking me northeastward ho. Either everyone is busy running, with no time to post, or this thread is quieter than my love life.
