    EEEK! Problems with Carrier....GULP

Black is bad??? My experience with diesel engines has been that you don't have to run them any length of time till the new oil is already black. I don't think black is a bad thing. Thick, sludgy, gritty would be bad. But not black.

The Absolute Importance of Doing Our Job Well

Wow! Just when I start to think about how I really feel, here comes another thought I have to ponder on. I have bought larger T shirts to try and cover my pot belly. Now if I can just figure out how washing my truck more than twice a year is going to make me more money.

    Avatars and Screen Names

I got my screen name as a suggestion by Ebay. Every name I tried to use, was already taken. My first and middle name starts with j and b. After answering several questions on Ebay, it gave me several possibilities and one was bluejaybee. Since I like water (aqua), this seemed right for me. My...

    T300 Gearing Stinks

Ford and Chevy, Cat and Cummins. The "which is better" lives on. I have never owned a Cummins, but always had 3126's and liked them. If I had had a bad experience with one of them, my story might be different. Maybe it is all in the luck of the draw when it comes to such things. But I would...

    Best Under CDL Box Truck

Re: What Is The Best Under CDL Box Truck For Longhaul? Sure he can. No cdl needed if under 26000 GVWR. Even with air brakes. All he needs is an endorsement like "For Hire". In Tn it is a F endorsement. Other states may call it something else. As far as the truck, I had an International...

    Solo Rest

I have tried several different scenarios, but they never seem to be the right one. Just when you think you have a plan that is working, it falls apart. So, I just do what I have to do, to get the load there. Sometimes, may have to stretch the rules a little. Some of you can come back on me and...

    gassers

If you are talking vans, that is one thing. Straight trucks, don't even consider it. I personally have never had one since expediting, but one guy in our group had a gasser and 4-5 MPG was all he ever got. And the biggest problem was he only had a 50 gallon fuel tank. So he was fueling alot. I...

    Steerable lift axle

Excuse me, as I may be having a senior moment here, but when you say scale 27000 and 34000, are you talking GWV or Tare weight? I am not following your lingo. (probably is a senior moment). Where are my pull ups? Got my teeth. There is my glasses. Yep, hearing aids are in. Pace maker is...

    Truckstop Madness

They really have it narrowed down. "Along popular travelled truck routes". Wouldn't that include all the interstate highways? Wow! Way to go FBI.

Thinking about Expedited - got Questions!

Sure they can, but will it be when the customer wants it and in the time frame. Is Werner equipped to drop everything else and run an LTL in a moments notice. Well, they won't make many runs until they will see the need for the extra charge. Guess they will have to put on an expediting division...

    How did you quit?

I smoked from age 9 til 58. 49 years. I quit because I knew I was in early stages of emphysema. I quit once before when I was about 32. That lasted about 4 weeks. Never tried again. I loved smoking. I have been quit now for a little over 2 years. The urge is gone, but, when I smell a cigarette...

    Best Expediter Truck

As for the comfort part of the truck, Sterling would be my choice. Just seemed to have more leg room. International would be next and Peterbilt is the most uncomfortable truck I ever owned. There is just a cramped feeling with fatigue after long runs. I have never had an issue with power in any...

    GPS Led You Astray?

Yep, mine tried to send me into a sandy, saw grass field in Florida. I was smarter than it though. I only drove 300 feet into the sand before I knew it was wrong! hehehehe! But the best one was on I55 N to Chicago. It had me exit and get right back on. It tried to do it everytime, so it had...
