    Donvel Air Ride

Donvel installed the quad air springs on my front end a couple years ago, and several of the "motion control" valves and I will attest to the product. It takes the jolt out of your wrist and arms, a quality product indeed. By the way, you probably have not heard of them because they are a...

    Water Pump Life

Cat C9 w/ 460k mi.s, water pump still good and no problem w/ cooling. Already asked once, but if loosing coolant, this would be a sign. Check recovery bottle at idle and look for air bubbles (caution, may be under hot/under pressure), may indicate head gasket prob.

    team pay- poor mileage compensation

Have the charge air cooler tested or google how to diy, lot's of good info online on how to do it yourself on the cheap if an option. I found a very slight leak at the rubber boot on the turbo by spraying soapy water. Went from 8.5 to 9.25 on my Cat C-9 with that alone. Another biggie, if not...

    Class 7 vs Class 8

Isn't it true the class 8 will get better mpg's then 7's? The 8 drivers I ask are claiming 12mpg on the road.

    Green Tea Diet

I am wondering if anybody has tried Herbalife Herbal Tea Concentrate or what your thoughts are? I buy it on ebay and mix in my bottled water, not bad tasting, and is supposed to be loaded w/ herbal antioxidants, but also contains cafeine. It sure helps me stay alert on the long hauls. Diagnosing AC problem

Could be some idiot, no wait, I did this the other day.....anyway, put too much freon in the system causing compressor to cycle on for only short periods of time. Expelled a little into the "recovery bottle", yea right, and walla, cold air again. I lost some freon and traced leak to an...

Canada Coming into Canada Toward Month End?

Speaking of delays, I heard on Landline Now, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the report was to expect delays on the Ambassador bridge (as if not already) beginningf, I believe, in July this year, 2010, while they close one lane at a time to replace the bridge platforms, expected completion...

    fuel prices

I know IFTA is a whole other topic, but here's a question. I know you pay the IFTA based on each state's miles run, but what about the "duty-free" fuel at the Can/US border? Panther figures my IFTA so isn't it either pay the tax now or pay later when figuring each state's/providence's miles...

Caterpillar claims C9 unsuitable to task

Yea, i don't know, but it seems the fact that they are paying 45% shows Cat is admitting fault, but nowhere in the extended srvce contract does it say they will only pay 45%. Seems to me it would be a good case, Cat should pay all or none. There have been many cases settled in favor of the...

    Airtabs

Only complaint I have is they are made with too thin of plastic stock. I have probably a dozen that have been cracked or split along the high points from low limbs. Otherwise, thumbs up, they do everything they say, stability in cross winds, .4-.5 mpg increase, less dirt on back doors...

Caterpillar claims C9 unsuitable to task

Leo, what kind of oil consumption were u experiencing? Mine drinks 1 gal every 2500 mi.s or so and has for the last 200,000 miles, Rot T6 Synth 5W-40. What may be at issue here is; does the warr. cover components that wear out rather then just total failures. When I was a gm dlr, a sales...

    Cat C9 injectors

I have an M2 built in May '06 pre-emission engine. One injector and turbo replaced at 180,000 mi.s, didn't even know they were out, took truck in to run an overhead adjst. 400k mi.s now and have developed a slight miss. I heard on XM/ ATBS a guy called in to say the electronic Cats have a...

    Worst roads in America?

Here is one that will broaden the example of a bad road. I know, PC Miler's estimated miles won't pay the added miles from Seattle to Vegas, but...... Put my vote in for NV National Forest Develop Rd 025 east of Mountain City, NV. 20 miles of jeep trail. Quite the experience in a St truck...

    Synth back to Mineral

Thank you for all the info. Gregg, my iron was as high as 17ppm before Lucas then went to 34ppm in 12k mi.s after adding the Lucas. When u say thrust journal are u referring to crank oil journals? Dave, I plan to get it into Cat for the oil usage. I was told the preverbial 'within...

    Synth back to Mineral

Any problems changing back to mineral from Synth. Have heard it creates problems in gas engines, may be old wive's tale or different for diesels? Reason being, oil pressure seems too low on my Cat C-9, around 37psi at 1500rpm cruise and 15psi at idle when fully warmed up. In a pull up a...
