Any suggestions on lift for pulling a motor

With my C9 on the down side of 700k mi.s, it's time to think about being proactive on replacement with the least amount of downtime. I'm hoping to get 1,000,000 out of it, but I realize I may be dreaming. Despite what others may think about this motor, I've been very pleased, runs smooth...

    Problem found

Good one Doggie D. Some shade tree fixes are better then new, 'course, using Slime may not be one of them, and I'd never recommend Slime in a CMV tire. But the use of a carpenters clamp on the bank of AMU's when reinstalling has seemed to fix mine, I just researched and it's been 295K...

    Problem found

Granted it was a pin hole of a leak. I pulled the spring out, couldn't find a replacement without ordering one, so I thought I'd give it a try. Squirted straight into the top, hooked the air line back up and shot some air into it and rolled it around to the hole. Plugged it right up...

    The Hino 338

My truck just rolled 700,000 miles on the odom (FL M2106, 12,000# frnt axle) and I still have the original bearings on the steer axle. I run 75-90 MOB 1 LS SYNTH and change it out within 120,000 miles. Some very shiny metal showed up last time barely detectable with the human eye, stuck to...

What type of MPG to expect .....

    '07 M2106 with an '06 pre-emission Cat C9, Pittsburgh Pow Muffler, low rolling resistance 11.5x22 tires, Allison 6 spd, 4:30 gears, 55-60mph in 5th gear avg 9.5 mpg, 65mph avg 9.0 mpg.

    Problem found

Not sure how bad a leak in the air bag you have but I patched a leak in my sleeper air spring with Slime about 8-9 months ago and still holding. Best of Luck!

Anyone able to get Verizon/Panther contractor discount?

I received a call back today from Verizon from a message I left about 3 weeks ago and she said she could fix it but first I have to call customer service and change calling my tax id number to calling it a social security number. Same number, just semantics. Haven't had time yet today, but...

Slowing down to save fuel and increase

True, but I still maintain the law of physics should be considered above all. We have driven St trucks with both 5:11's and 3:73's and found both do better dropping to 5th gear in the Allison 6 spd and running 57-58mph. Aerodynamics play a part but the slower speeds take less boost and fuel to...

Anyone able to get Verizon/Panther contractor discount?

Will keep informed. Received email from Verizon wanting copy of "employee" badge or copy of pay stub with personal data removed. Sent a copy of my ID card today, will see what happens.

    Headlight longevity

I too got tired of replacing the silverstars about every month or two and found the Phillips bulbs would last three to four months in my M2. I bought myself a Christmas present last year and put these Bosch Xenons as found here...

    Panther is a scam.

Cudoos to Panther from this ST truck team owner, finishing out our best month yet in 5 yrs w/ Panther. After this evenings delivery this team will have done just short of 7,000 loaded mi.s in the past 7 days. Now, don't get me wrong, this is not a common thing to do this many miles, and...

Anyone able to get Verizon/Panther contractor discount?

I just noticed the Verizon discount on the Panther site but having a time with "account not eligible" messages and 4 calls now to Verizon to gain it, still no avail. Verizon told me my account should be eligible since it is one of the higher priced accounts (hmmmmm maybe I should shop that too)...

    QC Messaging

Same here, probably a Verizon problem again. Happened a week ago, called and left message and then it worked a couple more times. No down again.

Winter Weather warning ... heads up!

Came out of San Diego, CA last nite on SR 94 and snowing heavy at about 3000 ft near Campo, CA. Was crazy that close to our souther border. Hit I-8 and descended into spring time :#

    ANOTHER air leak

Wow Layout, that was quick come back 10-4. I did not make it very clear, but the piece of angle iron and everything about the install is using the original factory parts. Pics would only look the same as factory, nothing different, only the install procedure. Think of the AMU's as gluing...

    ANOTHER air leak

BTW, diagnosing a leaking AMU is easy. For finding any air leaks, I use a 3 ft section of 1/2" OSD or smaller plastic hose. Place one end near your ear (not in your ear, haha) and slide the other end in the slot behind the back side of the AMU's. The sound of the air leak will be magnified...

    ANOTHER air leak

I think I posted something similar to this in past years and apologize if redundant for those who know how to work the sites search feature, I don't have much luck with it. I have an 07 M2106 and the 1st AMU went around 150,000 miles and replace under warranty (after paying the shop a $90...
