Welcome to August " the dog days of summer "

Good morning, John. I have realized Laredo will only be a winter destination in the future..lol...they have been trying, but no success even at load offers at .65 per loaded mile, .10 cpm higher than they have been asking me to run for...it just amazes me that a load can't be secured at even...

Insurance coverage and the "multi" carrier model

I'm surprised you would even waste the time of researching a multi's credentials in consideration of possibly hiring him.

Portable Generator deals/for sale? Best a/c unit?

There have been some that have tried to go that cheap route with a/c and generators. Save yourself the frustration of sub-standard equipment and save up for the best. Well worth it in the long run.

July in the land of Load One

As luck would have it, Jamie did call me with a nice load to finish off the week. Funny how things work out. Unloaded, and oos so I can have my a/c on the dash checked out...not as cold as I recall it..in a state park close to home that I never partied. ..I mean, camped in..this one is on Lake...

Cargo Van I got kicked out of a Flying J

But what is returning an item that you obviously wanted going to do, besides inconvenience you, anyways? That little profit margin they lose off of your returned item isn't going to bankrupt them. That's almost as ridiculous as a driver going home, and parking his vehicle for a few months, to...

Cargo Van I got kicked out of a Flying J

I think they are more lenient towards vans versus big trucks.

Welcome to August " the dog days of summer "

My Dad always told me when I went with him on the road as a kid, "A load isn't finished until the paperwork is".

July in the land of Load One

It has been a good week that I am content with. But, If Tim happens to find a load today or tomorrow, I'd be more than happy to run it....

    10% off, Lodi Metals

I ordered four 20 feet long ratcheting straps a few years ago, with the ratchet end set at 12" from the end. Like you said, it comes in handy on not only small loads, but any load the ratchet is right at the rear door. However, I am finding the blue webbing is not holding up as well, and having...

Does low paying loads affect you're attitude/work ethic?.

I was wondering as I drove through the night and was listening to a few drivers talk on the c.b. about rates, and how inconsistent they are, when one driver chimed in, and said, "if they want expedite service, they'd better pay me for it"...another added, " they are going to get the kind of...

    Drivers Destroy New Truck!!!

It is amazing how many so called drivers have made it years in this industry, when they really can't drive as a professional should. To be a fleet owner, a good, caring one, not one who expects their drivers to drive a complete piece of un-maintained crap, takes a huge set of balls. I have a...

So... What is the Story on Laredo...?

Fortunately, I haven't seen any of them, snakes or spiders, either in the truckstop or campground, even while laying under the van replacing a starter. Now, I do see my share of dung bugs, while they were hijacking one of my dogs turds.
