Freigh. M2 check engine light when idle

Might try checking the connections to the cruise switches and/or replacing the switches. The cruise set button will also flash the ck engine light thereby counting out the codes while driving down the road, so, make sure your cruise on/off switch is on when hitting set/resume switch or else...

I am looking at buying an 07 FL M2 with a Cat C9 engine

When the 1st pump failed, I was running 65 mph with relatively cold engine and the red "oil" light came on. Pulled over and found it blew most of the crankcase oil out of the oil pressure safety valve that broke off (about the size of a 3/8" dia bolt but hollow). Freightliner dealer said pump...

I am looking at buying an 07 FL M2 with a Cat C9 engine

I have an '06 C9 with 982,000 miles never cracked open although it has always used oil. Just fueled up in JAX FL at 10.57 mpg, 4:30 gears, original Allison auto 6 spd, we run 58mph in 5th. Sub freezing temps, economy drops as low as mid 8's but never lower. Overall avg 9.5 long term. 65mph...

    Tax help!

I'm thinking if you are a sole proprietor leased on to your carrier and the 1099 is just in your name, you should be able to split the income by you writing her a 1099 for the amount you want to show paid to her. Being still single, you both have to file separately of course.

    Time to fill up

Jenny's right, price less tax is true cost to compare state to state (avg price less tax by state go here; TruckMiles.com - Daily Fuel Prices by ProMiles ). TA's have the best discounts using Comdata negotiated by Panther. I'll run to near empty in our st trk to get the best price. Ran to...

    A/C in AA truck sleeper

I too replaced the electronic valve in my AA sleeper with a ball valve in the incoming water line and shut it off when using A/C. Be sure to unplug the electric valve, it sux a lot of amps when on. Also, if you have ever recharged using the freon that contains oil, it may be clogging your...

Lucas oil additives good or bad?

I'm not sure if everyone is talking specifically of the brand or just the molasses in a bottle that I think of when talking Lucas. I understand they do make differing wt. oils. My experience is with the thick stuff. I run an OPS bypass and tried a gallon of Lucas once in my C9 and the...

    Runs to Alaska

Ran it once as well, summer trip. Paid good and good money to d/h back to Seattle. We enjoyed it and were able to visit an old college buddy who loaded us up with 20 lbs. of fresh salmon to take home with us.

    $100,000.

Income taxable, or maybe not. What about a gift?, or if it's an injury settlement that settled out of court, I believe it would be non-taxable. If a court ordered settlement, then punitive amount is taxable. Maybe a tax accountant can ring in here. Me, I first give 5 to 10% to my church...

Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

Good to see a tech speak out on what sometimes seem to be secret fixes. I especially like the comment of "follow directions". I can't tell you how many rocker adjuster studs on my Cat I've popped over torquing them just because the OEM's 22ft/lb doesn't seem like enough, not to mention I...

    In-frame for a CAT

I did a little pricing the other day from a Cat dealer in Longview, TX, blocks only as I am strongly considering doing the labor in my shop w/ the help of a friend who does this type thing for a large fleet. Benefits; complete control and I like the idea of the factory reman block rather then a...

    Profound Information for All Expediters

I know I'm late to the party here. Just an observation, but I an picking up some "our industry is getting screwed" mentality goin on here. It's not just expediting. Yeah the money is going to the oil companies, but keep in mind, they also have to truck, insure, supply, operate, maintain and...

    Cat C7 white smoke

What water temps is your engine running? If too cool, my quess is the white smoke condition is a symptom of your truck running too cold and the air inlet heater can't keep up. The above blog states "The air inlet heater also reduces white smoke when the engine is cold." You may not be...

Might want to check the inlet air heater. "The air inlet heater improves the engine's ability to start when the engine is cold. The air inlet heater also reduces WHITE SMOKE when the engine is cold." Quoted from a blog found here; ENGINES FOR HEAVY EQUIPMENT & MORE: C7 and C9 Engines for...
