How Are You Coping With the Heat?

Linda and I havent been hindered by the heat biz wise. Our attempts to run down the road have been torpedoed by the new truck. It is again in the shop for failing its 2nd TVAL test. We have lost several weeks production over this single issue not to mention the lost income of not being able to...

    Deadhead

Phil, I got to tell you the new clink comes with a long enough cord to hang it out the window. So you see the problem of having the Fedex clink inside the truck is much more manageable.

    Onan question

Hi Dave, thanx for your input. Running my pedal was never an issue with the old truck that had an Onan and I agree with everybody that they are built to handle everything we can throw at them and more. EXCEPT, as you and Phil mentioned install problems like a loose wire or miss wiring. The...

    Onan question

Hi zorry, too bad we had to leave. I was looking forward to talking with you. Like anything, there are pro and con experiences. When running it is a good APU as others have said. Hi Linda, thank you and Bob for the info. We use our ONAN pretty much the same as you. Our model is the Hybrid, I...

    Onan question

Shooting off a flare: . . . _ _ _ . . . Okay, my dislike of ONAN aside, here is a question. The Onan screen control panel shows two power lines. Line 1 and (yep) Line 2. The AC according to the install manual is connected to Line 1. In my Flagship series I commented on all the electric...

Fedex Flagship from MATS finally hits the road

Yep its a little messy. Seems the movers and housekeepers didnt show up and **** we had to move all of our things ourselves into the new expensive truck with a really huge price tag (like Minnie Pearls); Just sayin. THEN WE HAD TO PUT IT ALL AWAY TOOOOO!!! I will make sure the very next really...

Fedex Flagship from MATS finally hits the road

The truck has a 12k front end. two dual rear end @ 20k each. As for who spec what. I am not the one to ask. the truck scales 31k. it could carry 21k. BUT, as I said, we limit it to 15k. It is a front heavy truck needing the tag down all the time. I wasnt involved in or consulted on ( not...

Fedex Flagship from MATS finally hits the road

max payload is aprox. 21k. however we limit it at 15k the rear bar is part of the lift gate. if it is intended to protect the gate from locking hooks at a dock, its a waste. i request they not use the hooks. if they insisted on using them (never has happened), i would not dock.

Fedex Flagship from MATS, 12000 miles later

Hey zorry, not sure on the cost. I dont think the T1000 is cheaper. Two trucks were built by Stoops that the owner I drive for bought. 1 had a Carrier 1 a Thermo King. Here is hoping the "known issues" are small so when I do find time to get into a Thermo King shop it wont be anything major or...

Fedex Flagship from MATS, 12000 miles later

Hey Phil, I agree on the batteries. I am stuck with what I got as I am a driver for an owner. Pat purchased a built truck from Stoops. Why they went to AGM or Thermo King can only be answered by Stoops. I have been sleeping on the road for over 15 years. The last 5 as an expediter. I find your...

Hi Phil, The Onan situation is not unique to me I have had conversations with other with negative and positive experiences and as we have talked about them, you even helped me PM mine once, yours is a positive experience. Twice the unit was completely removed from the frame and rebuilt by...

Thats pretty good, wish we got that mpg. On the other side, we carry more personnel stuff in our condo than you can carry frt. Oh, also, we could carry your tiny weeny little vehicle in our box. Just sayin.

Fedex Flagship from MATS, 12000 miles later

My MPG figue is an all inclusive, run, idle, reefer and APU diesel consumption figure. But, I dont care where the fuel is burnt at, I still have to replenish when gone. The clink monitoring system tells me I am getting 9.8 while rolling down the road. Apples to apples, currently my fuel...
