    Straight Truck Sleeper

Here you will find the regulations for legal sleepers. Sleeper berths. - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration If you note after Jan 1953 sleepers must be in the cab or adjacent to the cab,so if I get this right it is now illegal to build a sleeper in the cargo box.

    Truth or BS?

I don't know a lot about what is said here but I do know that a car will run on the alternater with out a battery and will run with a bad alternater only until the battery dies. Therefore the alternater needs no other source of power but it's own to produce power.

    A joke or two

[Joke] Irish Paddy says to Mick "I found this pen, is it yours?" Mick replies "Don't know, give it here." He then tries it and says, "Yes it is" Paddy asks "How do you know?" Mick replies, "That's my handwriting." -- Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all...

ve HazMat and Tanker is nothing to get no big deal. Unless the State Police or who ever takes your Fingerprints goofs up like they did mine on renewal. What should have taken two weeks toke five months and the prints were electronic. I had to go have them done a second time. Good advice when...

Thompson Emergency Services is still around for one. FedEx used to hire on Canadian Drivers,I don't know if they still do. I know for sure the number of loads coming out of Canada is not what it used to be. Good Luck.

NTSB Says Straight-Truck Safety Needs More Attention

I don't know how many States but some like PA and WV require that trucks over 10,000 GVWR must go thru the Scales and you must have a Medical Card if you are Interstate but you do not need a CDL unless you carry HazMat.

    Pressure Cookers

My Mom was a fantastic cook (everyone's Mom was or is of course) she swore by her pressure cooker, it was old school, I say that because it was thick and heavy. I'm sure Modern cookers are not and I bet you can eat better with one in the Truck because of reduced cooking times.

    Should O/O Welcome Reduced HOS?

I must admit I have driven many 10 and 11 hour shifts without a break,as a team driver and when single. I know everyone has. But as long as I can get it there on time I feel much safer and more comfortable with a break and I think everybody does. I think that rule will have little impact either way.

Have you cargo vanners tried hauling air freight?

I'm glad you are happy that doesn't sound like a bad gig at all Sounds pretty good. You don't mention if that pay is all miles or just loaded miles. I myself could never run out and back unless I got paid both ways. I think most drivers on here do Air Freight whenever they can.

    Telling Dispatchers To Go..........

I have driven Expedited since 1993,and I hate to inform of this but there is no need to cuss at or cuss at all when speaking to dispatch. It doesn't matter if you have been treated unfairly or not. What do you think it will get you. A no force dispatch works both ways, you don't have to take a...
