Bar and Grill- Open Saturday Night!

How about some pre-game chat tonight, 2/05 on the EO chat room at 8:00 PM EST? www.expeditersonline.com/infochat/ I'm serving up steaks, Buffalo wings, good beer, and a few fun truck topics here and there! Be there or be a.... flat beer:9 -Weave-

    Gear Ratios

No Bazooka, but again funny how A-Team comes in this post and mentions with exact figures the years of experience the people who helped design and build his truck have, even using the term, "Brain trusts." With 21.1 years average each in that group, I guess Mickey Mouse wasn't present in the...

    Most intersting Load so far?

You guys are hauling way to many body parts:D Although the piece of freight was not so interesting, this load was, or was at least my most fun load to date. It was a crankshaft for a locomotive engine that powered a large tugboat, the Elanor Bouchard that works to move container ships in the...

    Good Health on the road?

I have managed to stay in fairly good shape by just doing a lot of walking when I have time during a layover or wait period. I'm no super-jock, but have not put on too much weight since I started as a driver. I had a recent experience where I had to transfer and drive a small tractor between...

    A Little Help?

Maybe that's the first thing we all need to research and come up with an answer for- Is it Expediters or Expeditors? The first one seems the most popular, but if made official we might have another bazooka rage here:7 I receive e-mails similar to the one the A-Team got on occasion. My...

    HAZMAT Debacle

One thing I always wondered: Here in NY the hazmat license endorcement has to be renewed every 2 years. Do other states let it go longer? -Weave-

    Patriot Act

I have hauled Hazmat with past carriers for a number of years. Passing the tests and having the endorcement or doing the loads didn't bother me though, but I am now glad to be back with my carrier who doesn't bother with it. Expedite carriers who have established themselves as Hazmat haulers...

    Sprinter VS E350/with 6.0 Powerstroke

This topic might be of help: http://www.expeditersonline.com/dcforum/DCForumID16/687.html I think the 6.0 Powerstroke is just finding its way into the Ford vans, and there are not too many in expedite van service yet. -Weave-

    Gear Ratios

I did not design my class 8 truck, but bought it used with the following setup on a hunch it would work fairly well: S60 Detroit engine, 470 HP 10 speed manual OD transmission 3.58:1 single axle rear 22.5" rear tires Setup spins low RPM's on the highway, so low I don't even think about them...

Is This Forum For Everyone, Or Just An Elite Few?

RE: Is This Forum For Everyone, Or Just An Elite F Scott, you might be missing something. Read post #31 again please. That very nice lady is the wife of the person in the credentials example taken from the magazine articles. But that aside, like I said, the credentials thing is OPTIONAL on...

    gross weight of cargo containers

The only container company I have dealt with is Cronos, www.cronos.com The site has their specifications. Others are probably about the same, depending on what type of container you need to use. -Weave-

    Becoming a newbie

Welcome Skittles, I enjoyed your post, and hope you can get off to a safe, sound start in expediting. I can assure you however that at least in my case being an experienced expediter I am not envious of anyone new who enters this business and succeeds from the start. I did so myself, and...

    Dock Height

Expedite trucks with air ride and dump valves can give some adjustment to different dock heights when needed based on the height of the air springs it has. With this feature, I only recall one place this past year where I bumped a dock I couldn't get fairly level with. -Weave-

    Super D

I don't know about TS terminology, but your straight truck should be considered a regular "D" unit there from what I have in my last information from them. "E" units are generally tractor trailers, (48 or 53 foot trailers) and I most often see the "Super D" term refer to a tractor with a 26 or...

Is This Forum For Everyone, Or Just An Elite Few?

RE: Is This Forum For Everyone, Or Just An Elite F Moderators... I UZE2BEE1... Please don't close this thread as I don't see that any, "attacks" were made, and I think Freespirit deserves and owes a rebuttal. She should be allowed a chance to finish what she started. ;) Or.. on another level...
