    Sleepers

Here is a picture of the "Little Deuce Coupe" in the event the Marimo's haven't seen it. It's sleeper was custom built by Bentz. While I'm admittedly not a lover of show trucks, I have to admit this truck was incredible in the sleeper dapartment. For a $300k truck, it better have been! It was...

    FOR THOSE WHO ARE LISTENERS

No stunt. I read about his forced "retirement" somewhere, might have been Land Line. There was a little biography on him, he was never an actual trucker but always a huge supporter for the industry. -Weave-

    Sleepers

For a high quality, no compromise custom sleeper, Bentz is the choice of most. There are cheaper sleepers out there that might fill your needs, but every owner of a Bentz I have talked with has been very satisfied with their sleeper, and truckers are hard people to satisfy:) -Weave-

    Layover

Here is one of my little secrets, one I probably shouldn't share, but as parking is getting to be a real hassle for trucks with these new log book rules, every truck seems to be solar powered now and finding parking after 6 PM is not easy. After a run, I go to a truck stop to fuel and get the...

    Fuel Cost

From what I understood from history the crude oil in Alaska could be refined for our needs in the 1970's and can be even better refined today. The pipeline was supposedly built to eliminate our reliance on OPEC. But when the pipeline went into use, OPEC then dropped their prices to a level well...

    Log book for vans

Other than with Hazmat, required as noted in above post, I can't see where logging will be mandated for vehicles under 10k lbs. If that were the case, than everyone in their car on the highway should keep a log book too. Don't want Joe the travelling salesman to crash up his big Buick...

    FL 70

That does sound low, even with an automatic. My old truck had the 5.9 with 6 speed manual, and it got 10.5-11 MPG. Have you had the engine's valves adjusted recently? If not, this might help improve the MPG, especially with Cummins 5.9's. With the automatic, the 5.9 should get at least 8-9...

    Throw out Bearing

Actually a very common problem with those Eaton 6 speeds, the ones my dad and I used to have both had the infamous Eaton chatter. When you adjust the clutch free play, the chatter will become worse. The throwout or "release" bearing can only be addressed when the tranny is out, such as for a...

    Cargo box strength?

I have a good feeling I know where that box came from, those are the exact boxes Jeff Jones from Ft Wayne KW uses on the T300 HDX'es. They are noted as a very good quality box, and the price sounds awesome as they are nearly $15k new. They are fully expediter spec'ed, and no mods (other than...

    Fuel Cost

Jeepers Rich. Rediculous. I gave up writing congresspeople a long time ago- found it more productive to talk to a brick wall. If this country would have concentrated on alternate alcohol based forms of fuel such as methanol 25 years ago, most of our farmers would still be here and we wouldn't...

    Mixing Wheels

Yes, you can do this Cliffn, it is very common. It is recommended however that some plastic lug spacers be used between the duals, as sometimes the reaction between the steel and aluminum cause the wheels to almost weld themselves together making them difficult to break apart. (I remember this...

    1998 GMC 6500 Stalling after 200-300 miles

That is what is confusing me most on this problem is the check engine light. If it is coming on in illusionaudio's truck for low fuel system pressure for any reason, that active code should be in the computer as it does sound like a fuel starving problem. Oh well, I've seen stranger...

    Went Window Shopping

Is that the Dually rear wheel Sprinter you are looking at? That is the only one with the 5000lb payload capacity. The problem with the dually Sprinter is a standard sized pallet will not fit between its wheel wells. The non-dually extended Sprinter has a 3700lb capacity. Sprinter's 2.7L 5...

    1998 GMC 6500 Stalling after 200-300 miles

Was the truck sitting around for a while before it was bought? This relates to the hills. If so, it is possible there is a lot of sediment at the bottom of the fuel tanks which is blocking the fuel pickups and causing fuel system to loose pressure. The hills can aggravate this situation. If...
