    11 "Load Oportunity"

I think I mispoke. I was complaining about recieiving 11 Load Opportunties and not being first in line for any of them. FECC has a new ridiculous dispatch system that sends the same load to three trucks at the same time. So since I was in Erie Pa I was getting pinged over and over last truck in...

    Pro-Heat/Carrier NEW Refridegerant

Next time you are in for warranty service, watch what the guy does, so you can see where he hooks the guages up. The low pressure side is the one that doens't burn your fingers when you touch it after the ac has been running a while - learned that the hard way.

    Pro-Heat/Carrier NEW Refridegerant

Theres the link to where I bought the stuff. ES-22a Enviro-Safe: HomeRefrigerants.com If you get the home recharge kit, four small cans, your AC in the APU will take two cans and then you will have 2 spares. They also sell the right gauge. I see they changed their webpage since I bought...

    Pro-Heat/Carrier NEW Refridegerant

I have a carrier APU, which is basically the same as a ProHEAT, and it has been nothing but a nightmare for me. Having said that I have learned a few tips, from NON-Carrier dealers as to why they are crappy, and what can be done to make them work better. Tip 1, From Applied Industrial...

    Apu

I got a ticket in Mississippi for being overweight, the DOT lady laughed when I asked about the APU exception, Anyway, most states don't grant the exception, overweight tickets are a major source of scale revenue. I believe CA gives the exception, but I cant prove it.

    New Study...Hazards of Nighttime Driving

One major reason accident rates are higher at night, is people drive faster than their headlights, @ speeds over 55mph you,ll run over something before its been illuminated long enough for you to react to it safely. in general accidents are so rare, that we begin to think our poor driving...

    Wide Singles

Is anybody out there running wide singles on their straight truck. According to Michellins web site they have a lower trouble call percentage than dual set ups, and Kevin on XM seems to like them. I just put Michellins on the front and they sure do ride better than the bridgestones I had

    3% of trucking capacity GONE

Don't get me wrong I'm not looking forward to 12 a gallon diesel or 300 dollar oil. But the Trend is the trend. Back when I was a commodity broker, Oil was trading for 12 bucks a barrel, the dollar was worth twice what it is worth today and times were good. "Irrational Exuberance" is what...

    3% of trucking capacity GONE

Its not speculators driving up oil prices. The large specs in the energy market are almost net short, while the commercials are almost net long, the small traders are net short. What this means in English is the market is in balance, there is no SPEC bubble. Prices may come down in the near...

    lets have some fun

First of all you have too many dispatchers. So to cut back you would need to use some technology to see who is working and who is screwing around. This technology exhist and iisn't expensive to implement. The easiest way to track employees is with phone bill monitoring. Efficient dispatchers who...

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

I was only under the old FSC program for about 3 months. So I can't comment too much about the old system vrs the new. But I can say this regardless of the FSC. I price loads at .90 plus what the cost of fuel would be. At this time fuel is running me about .55 cents a mile. I also figure in...

    3% of trucking capacity GONE

I was listening to XM and OOIDA stated on their show that 3% of the US's truck capacity has disappeared so far this year. That seems like a lot of trucks. I think we need to see more of a shakeout before rates move up to where they need to be. anyway just thought I'd pass that on.

    Internet access on road

I use 3do card, it runs about 50 bucks a month. I'm using it now. It seems to works pretty good. It is a rare instance where I don't get a signal, there is decent coverage over all the interstates, I would say it is accessible about 95% of the time. Everywhere we have laid over I have been able...
