I'm not making myself clear. It's the Fleet owner who hires a couple with no experience and puts them in a Straight truck with Fed ex or Panther or anyone else. How does the inexperience come into play. I would think the Fleet owners Insurance carrier would want to know something about the...

Regarding Insurance Companies. It has been posted on here more then once if a driver has no experience in a Straight truck. That person won't be insured. Then how do the husband & wife teams coming from working K Mart or waiting tables get into a Fleet owners truck with no experience?.:rolleyes:

Unless the poster is ready & willing to upgrade to a Class A CDl, he probably doesn't want to purchase a Class #8 tractor.

I would guess there are far more accidents caused by Cellular phones, talking and or texting. Then there are from a pet(s) being in the rig with you.

Well I know from personal experience if the Head of Driver Relations speaks to you as if your a child and you don't like it. Your gone in a heart beat. Clearly easier to replace a van. Then the time & money expended in training a person for Drivers Relation's.

If you think you may want to hold onto it. Why not go to a salvage yard and if you find something newer with low mileage, ask if you can have an analysis done on the oil. They should allow you to drop the oil pan on the transmission to inspect it. And get them both at once.

I have never been a whiz at math. If your getting (just for example) $1.50 per loaded mile for a 1000 mile run. $1500.00. With 500 miles dead head you just reduced your profit by $167.00, I think:rolleyes:

There may one or two Companies who will hire you as a driver. Most are strictly O\O or Fleet owners. You may want to look into the Free Classifieds for someone looking for a team co driver. Good luck.
