    Not stepping on your toe or jumping to his defense but he did say what he pays.He gives the driver his daily asking rate. Based on what he said most driver's he gets don't know there value. I would guess he has a high turnover because of this.

The driver has to ask for a rate that will compensate for 24 hours of there time.The loads he gets the driver are largely gonna be based on each driver's daily rate.     That simply is not true,I have met and helped people that were truly down on there luck,I agree there are some that just bum because they can and sometimes it is hard to tell the difference,but to say that no one needs help is crazy.

    Most owners are honest,but yes you will encounter a bad one,once in awhile. I have been lucky and only found one bad out of five good owners.So one out of six.

    Just a thought. Can you live on just your wife's salary! If you can then maybe the thing for you to do would be to check out the Driver wanted ads here,and sign up as a co-driver with an owner. The best way to learn is by doing. Have your wife start her CDL A or B training if and when you decide...
