Maintenance Cost For a 2004 Sprinter in 400k miles

You are correct. I drive around 60 mph. Rarely I drive faster than that, but it happens on occasions.

Yep. Unbelievable, isn't it? But I am in no hurry getting anywhere, so that saves fuel. As turtle says, slow and steady wins the race even in expediting.

Maintenance Costs For A 2004 Cargo Van

Moot, I started another thread about my 2004 Sprinter maintenance cost here. I also included my fuel stats. I would like to see your fuel figures also, for a rough comparison between a gasser and a diesel van. Do you have this info?

Maintenance Cost For a 2004 Sprinter in 400k miles

Moot's post here prompted me to add up everything and see where I stand compared to his cargo van. This is a 2004 Freightliner Sprinter with a 2.7 liter in-line 5 cylinders Turbo Diesel Mercedes engine. I bought this van new in August of 2005 and it has been driven only by me, so I took good...

    Aftermarket seats in van?

I bought the thickest (2" I think) and full back support. The only thing I don't like about them is, in the winter when you start driving, it feels like you just sat down on a concrete slab. It is that hard, but it gets warm and soft pretty soon.

    Aftermarket seats in van?

Chef, I also bought one of those about 9 months ago. My butt doesn't get numb any more.

What happened to your tranny? Did you drive it before resetting the adaptives? Was it shifting differently than after the reset? I wonder what would happen if I reset them now. Not going to try it probably.

Yes, here. They are 'surplus' so to speak, so who knows how long they will be available.

Oh, and yes, it is a computer program with a multiplexer that you connect between the OBD-II port and the computer. Posted with my Droid EO Forum App

Eddie, I am not too familiar with your Actron scanner, but I guess it is a regular OBD-II scanner, which only reads the generic codes in all kinds of vehicles. DAD is a Mercedes specific tool that you can read codes in all computers in the sprinter (engine, transmission, abs, instrument cluster...

Nice of him to do that. And I know why he did it. It does not matter the company, or anything else. He did it for the satisfaction of helping someone that is stranded on the road. I would have done it also, and I know there are a few others that would too. By the way, I carry with me the basic...

    April 2011 locations!

Got to meet Guido down in Laredo this week. Man, I hope you get out of there soon. I missed TJ, he left before I got there, also I missed Chef. Would have liked to see his new ride. Next time.

That April snow got to you? Or are those nice people at load1 keeping you too busy? :D:D

    Factoring

It is still 3%, not 45%. By your math, if I was doing 33 loads a month, and I would give up 3% on each load, I would work for nothing, right?

I think you math is a little bit off.

POLL: Did You Have ANY Delivery Experience BEFORE Expediting

Drove a bus for 5 years, than a tractor trailer for a few months before I bought my sprinter and became an expediter. Posted with my Droid EO Forum App
