Actually no truck stop in Chicago or NW Indiana are safe. Instead I'd hang at the Pilot in Channahon or the Pilot in Minooka. Both are still in the Chicagoland area but away from the "riff raff"!

I would try any LTL carrier at their terminal to see if they can help you. I've had similar situation in the past. I was in Knoxville at the time.

You come up around the Chicagoland area, I'll hook you up good with places to eat in the suburbs. Allentown area too. Atlanta too *but its been a long time since I lived there. And best of all you guys drive a Penske cube? So places I send you can handle that type of vehicle for parking.
