Trucking Industry sets record, 700 Billion Dollar Year.

Your friends may not be moving right now because things have slowed down again. Last year though, which is what the report is talking about was a great year for making money. This year is starting to get better as we head into better seasons.

    Are Expediters becoming extinct?

The drivers aren't going broke in the trucking industry. The pay is back up for company drivers and the miles are there. There are some great paying loads for owner operators as long as they don't sign up for flat rate so things are looking up across the board.

    No more truck shows

Just use a fake number, I do it all the time when I am concerned about my info being sold. I also have a secondary email address that I give when asked so that the SPAM gets sent there. Your information has value so you should expect that it will be sold.

    Promaster engine noise 3.6

Hopefully they come through for you. Is it just the rockers wearing out? It could be that the parts have heat treating issues that are making the metal too soft.

    Self-Driving Freightliner Licensed in Neveda

A totally unmanned truck will be a great thing for freight hijackers. They could create a problem like a flat tire that would tell the truck's warning system to pull over and clean it out before any call to the police was made.

when an expedited load turns out to not really be an expedite

I was given a hot load that just had to be there no matter what. When I showed up for delivery and told them what I had the office guy started cursing about the buyer because he had purchased several months worth of the product. They were out of room and they had to store the pallets on the dock...

    Busy in April/May?

The economy is not based just on jobs but consumer spending which is the driving factor. Consumer spending is slow because people are paying off debt and not confident enough to take risks on buying the extras...

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

But does the insurance lobby have enough power to influence the government so much that they will be able to force everyone to buy insurance? I'm buying stock in insurance companies. It will be a great place for retirement money.

This law needs to be changed.

The dog owner was cited for leaving the dog in the car. It seems like in this type of situation the law would recognize the action as stopping a crime and make an exception.

    What happened to Eclipse Expediting?

I just read an article in the new Land Line magazine that said if the Grow America bill passes as it is proposed the bigger carriers will no longer be able to self insure. Grow America will also include compensation for a driver's on duty not driving time so the costs for the bigger carriers...

Things are still pretty sketchy with the economy and with the changes in the automotive industry it might be like this for awhile.

Has anyoe heard of On Call Logistics?

They may not put a priority on paying their bond if they don't broker loads. If the business is a 1 or 2 person operation something that produces nothing and is never dealt with is easy to get lost in the list of things to do. It could be a sign of disorganization or it could be a money problem...

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

With a van payment on $45k I don't think that you would earn as much after expenses. What city are you working in as a courier? Company? That is great money for being home every night, if someone wants to be home. I bet the time goes by pretty fast with the constant changes in duties.
