    Cheers for FedEx CC

It looks like FedEx Custom Critical is the carrier of choice for the hurricane relief efforts. I just saw pictures taken late yesterday at the Superdome and there was a large line of FedEx CC trucks outside. Well done!

    Friday July 1

This is to remind my American friends that Friday July 1 is a holiday here in Canada. We celebrate CANADA DAY. Most businesses will be closed. Truckstops are always open but they are usually filled with a lot of bored looking drivers.

    Canada Holiday in Canada

Just a reminder to my American friends that MONDAY MAY 23 2005 is a public holiday. Please drive with extra care if you are up here this weekend; the OPP are on a major blitz for speeding and aggressive drivers as well as drinking drivers. This is not to suggest that any readers of this forum...

    ConWay Now Question

Can anyone tell me why a CONWAY NOW Trailer was shipped by railway piggyback to Los Angeles recently? A picture was posted on a train modellers list. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/modelintermodal/files/cnwy_now741-5362_050805westriverside.jpg It certainly surprised me to see that picture. I...

    Canada ERB

I saw an ad in the Toronto Sun that ERB Transports expedite division is looking for owner operators. This would be for reefer vans. FYI

    Recognise This Truck????????

I thought I'd post a few pictures I was sent by another truck photo collector. I didn't take the pictures; I don't know where they were taken, when they were taken or even who took them! I thought it might be fun to see if anyone can identify the truck or location. Who knows; it might even be...

Canada Taking a short cut through Canada

This is an Intransit move. Your carrier must be a : CANADA CUSTOMS BONDED CARRIER. All the big carriers are Customs Bonded. The small carriers might not be. Don't think about posting a SINGLE TRIP BOND. It is very time consuming and expensive to do. I'll take questions from the floor (board)...

Did anyone actually help Gypsy1 who is sinking fas

I see all sorts of postings in that thread but did anyone actually answer the question? How many delivery services are there at Chicago O'Hare (ORD)? I'm sure that both Dynamex and Eagle are located there. If Gypsy1 isn't getting the work as an OTR expediter, I would think the Chicago Airport...

    Canada The Worst Roads

in Ontario: www.worstroads.ca One of the list is very familiar to many expediters: HURON CHURCH ROAD in Windsor. (people grumbling about all those dam*ed trucks :+ :+ :+ :+ ) Another road that makes the list is Highway 401 for it's congestion. Royal Windsor Drive in Mississauga is a freakin'...

Canada Traffic Rules - Advanced Green

Have you ever stopped at a stop light in Ontario. It turns green but it is flashing? That is the Advanced Green; it tells motorists that it is safe to turn left. The oppposing traffic is still seeing a red light. All traffic that sees the flashing advanced green light may proceed through the...

    Canada Traffic Rules - Streetcars

Many expediters; especially B's, C's and D's; get sent places where bigger trucks can't go. Downtown Toronto is undoubtedly one of those places. One of the true "joys" of driving in downtown "Terawnna" is watching for streetcars. These are the public transit vehicles that travel on embedded...

Canada So I'm now a "Moderator"

Greetings all: Thanks to Lawrence for asking me to moderate this Forum on Canada. I hope that this will be an informative place; especially about Customs and the border. I regret to say that I'm not a driver; a health condition prevents that; but I have thirty years in the Customs and Freight...

Canada Canada Customs Information - Correction

I was recently posting about Cabotage; and posted some incorrect information about records. Customs records pertaining to Transportation must be maintained for 4 years; not 7 as I previously said. That is the current year and the three previous years. The organization that holds the Carrier Code...

    SMOG DAYS in Toronto

Drivers coming to Southern Ontario should be aware that during "SMOG ALERTS" the anti-idling laws are strictly enforced. Vehicle exhaust is one of the ingrediants of the blanket of polluted air that covers Ontario during heat waves. I haven't heard of nor read of specific instances of truckers...

    More About Drivers Rights

Poodlenme has been questioning about independant contractors and drivers rights. Now I was reading an article today in the Canadian magazine "Truck News" written by a lawyer from Buffalo NY, who specializes in International transportation law. The first interesting point, although not directly...

Always remember when driving near the Great Lakes to be aware of this LAke Effect Snow squalls. The area near Buffalo is bad, so is Watertown NY. In Ontario, the...
