    Is anyone moving?

Get yourself to the NE. Your not going to make any money in the south. I was sent 3 B rate offers today (one reefer and two surface) and I'm in a DR unit. What does that tell you?

    Fedex

I think a lot of things play into what you're seeing out there. For example, April is usually a slower month, especially after the huge 1st quarter we had and the snow birds (those that don't run during the winter) are coming back into service. Hang in there. I PM'd you my number. Feel free to...

I ran into an interesting Youtube channel

He's probably got a crew to clean up after him and he can afford it. With the amount of views he's getting on that channel, he's making huge bank.

    Reefer Trailers buying frenzy

I was told by a good friend of mine that is a Landstar BCO, that a few months ago Landstar put out a message that they were looking for more trucks to pull their reefer trailers and there would be a percentage increase to 80% for those that did.

    Look at your settlement sheet!

Once you realize that a majority of these loads are brokered to CC from FedEx, you begin to see the potential for underhanded practices.

    buy LDT/MDT - moving house - am I nuts?

Rent a truck that'll hold more than you need. Place ads on Craigslist up and down your route. Go to Uship and bid on items to be moved along your route. Stay within 15-20 miles of your route. With careful planning, you can move for free and put some money in your pocket. I did this a few years...

    anybody solo with fedex custom

I also run solo. Run mostly the NE in a TVAL straight truck. I don't look at how many miles, but at total revenue. Had a record August. I can tell you that if your looking to run solo and are looking solely at miles, you'll go broke and won't last long in this business.

    WG Glove Changes

They sent the message as a media file, but if you didn't get it here's a recap of the changes: 1. Ability to go into Canada not required. 2. No preventable accidents in the last 12 months with potential indemnification of $2500 or more. 3. Background checks mirror SE. Basically, they've lowered...

    Considering bringing spouse on road

You could bring them on as a passenger first. Let them experience the routine and living conditions without any pressure. I would suggest at least a few weeks as the first week wouldn't count due to the "honeymoon" effect.

The dog days of summer: AUGUST!

Ahhh, ok. There's a Petro in Bordentown that's pretty good. That's where I head to when I'm in the area. There's also a TA in Paulsboro, but that place is a dump compared to the Petro. Either location puts you in a good location.

There's a TA just over the line off of exit 4 on I-80.

Does any truckstop have decent internet?

I also have a Verizon Mifi and I love it. I used it to set up my wireless network in the truck and have my laptop, iphone and printer hooked up to it. Makes for effortless printing, scanning, etc.

Load op $$ diff from load info $$

I can tell you where the discrepancy often occurs and why: fuel surcharge. If you are offered a load just before the new weekly fuel surcharge comes out, the amount can differ by the change ( up or down) in the fuel surcharge.

    Say Hi to July

If my guess is correct, and you're picking up in Towanda, there's another Dandy not too far from the shipper. They allow overnight parking if you let them know that you there.

    who's running the freight

Anything under $2.00 for a reefer load WITH added services is too low. You did the right thing by sticking to your guns.
