    Truck accident

I also have the LOU coverage through Progressive ($150 per day with a 30 day max). Dave, I know you've been around the block quite a few times when it comes to trucking, but you're statement is incorrect. My truck was hit while parked and the other party's insurance company paid me for ALL my...

    Undecided % or straight pay

Sarcasm font???? It all looks the same to me. Do you really think Fedex is going to offer you a surface load that pays more just because your on a percentage contract? Get real. If they did, it would undermine their flat rate initiative. From everything I have read and heard, it is my...

    Undecided % or straight pay

Really. From Monday's Fleet Bulletin: "As a reminder, when the new plan goes into effect on June 1, there will be no more negotiation on rates for individual Surface Expedite shipments, regardless of your pay plan. "

    Undecided % or straight pay

Regardless if your contract renews in May or not, all Surface Expedite loads will be flat rate.

    Insurance Companies Mandating EOBRs?

Just got off the phone with a good friend of mine (own authority with two 53' reefers on the road) and during our conversation, he asked me about my experiences using electronic logs. After a few minutes of back and forth, I asked him why all the questions, and he told me he just received a...

LOS, did this occur AFTER the scanned paperwork confirmation message?

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

Practice tapes? As far as I know, that should only happen once during your initial qualification. There are times when they may require a 4 hour test on the unit after a repair, but that's about it. The easiest way to communicate with someone at TVAL is via email. Contact your CC and ask them...

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

I concur with the reply that LOS gave you and can add that If you're a TVAL truck, the only lock that you should be watching is the CDC lock. If they slap this lock on your truck, the system can't "see" your truck. Not even WG. Since there isn't a TVAL lock, this is the way SA locks your truck...

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

At one time, the policy at Fedex was if a truck failed TVAL testing 3 times, you had to wait a year before you could re-test. Is that still the case?

    California driver need good company

Not from what I have seen. Dedicated account straights with Fedex are marked DA#### versus Fedex CC's DR####. All the Fedex DA trucks that I have seen were reefers.

$450 a week? That's just slight over 1 1/2 times the poverty level and that's considered GOOD money? Yipes!! To each his own...

Tri State? I didn't see where the OP said this was Tri State. I must have missed that post.

    percentage or milage

One also has to clarify what encompasses unloaded miles. For instance, does that include the distance from the consignee to a layover? In other words, when does the unloaded mileage pay kick in?

    percentage or milage

If I were contemplating this, I would ask to see the mileage breakdown for the last 6 months as a screen shot from the carrier's owner's page.

    percentage or milage

If you're running solo, (depending on the company) I would not expect more than 2k miles a week.

    California driver need good company

Zorry, youre probably right. I have seen several Fedex DA trucks delivering/picking up in Reno. They were all reefers.

    California driver need good company

Back in 2005, I was offered the opportunity to run a dedicated route with FDCC that originated in Phoenix. I do not remember the exact details, but it was 5 truck account that required team operated reefer trucks hauling pharma ( this was before TVAL). 4 weeks on, 1 week off. All loads...
