    New fuel program in Panther

I agree that Panther is aggressive in their sales. I think that they do a good job at keeping us moving when freight is available! Remember, Customer Service Reps, who write the orders when the customer calls in, want to keep the fleet rolling. Driver Managers (Dispatchers) do their best...

    New fuel program in Panther

Panther Folks, please help by correcting or clarifying my post if you see this differently! In answer to Greg’s questions… We get our contracted rate + FSC (which varies on each load). Because FSCs fluctuate pretty wildly (remember, they are voluntary for the customer), we must make the...

    New fuel program in Panther

Thanks for going after the information, Leo. Also, I appreciate the work that Driver Council is doing and realize that there is a narrow 'sweet spot' where what's good for fleet owners, owner/operators and drivers meets what is good for Panther. We have CHOSEN Panther and are proud to fly...

    New fuel program in Panther

Gee whizz! My D unit doesn't get 10mpg. I know this because in the 4 1/2 years I've been paying for quarterly fuel tax reports from Panther, I've NEVER averaged 10mpg for any quarter. I realize that I have extra weight with my liftgate and tag axle, not to mention all my Elite Services...

Love our GPS. Actually, we have 2: a Kenwood (with Garmin GPS built in), and a Garmin hand-held that we can mount anywhere. One backs up the other.

    time change and wrecks

Right on, Phil and aripen! She was on a 2-way service road and doing 15mph as she slowed behind cars which were waiting at a red light. Driving a Dodge Intrepid, she was struck from behind by a large SUV. She had enough of a cushion between the she and the cars in front so that she did not...

Linda and Bob: It's not just the added weight...imagine the surge created by every change in inertia. It would be sorta like filling that van with a liquid load. Go Moot. No STOP. Go, stop, no Moot, go.

    New fuel program in Panther

Leo: Can Driver Council get us some accurate information on what Panther is considering re: a new FSC program? Would they like some input from us drivers before they impliment their ideas, or would they prefer to let it 'slip' out via Driver Handlers who are only given partial info at best...

Pelican!!! You got my load! Was put on it Thurs for Tues pick-up in Illinois. Best run we had in 4 and 1/2 years with Panther. Had to call them Mon morning and tell them that my co-driver is in the hospital after being rear-ended in her personal vehicle on Sunday (had gone to Cosco to buy...

    time change and wrecks

Didn't have to wait until Monday! My co-driver was rearended in her personal vehicle early Sunday afternoon by a guy who dropped something on the floor and was looking down to retreive the object. She is pretty shook up and spending the night at Beaumont Hospital. Arrrrrg!

So glad you brought up this important topic, Morningstar! We are a 2-woman team and are always looking ways we can be proactive in attending to our own security.
