    Auto Hauling

Yeah, giving thought to going apportioned only so I don't have to worry about scaling all the time. Plan on running right close to 26k. Not sure of the extra cost associated with that but looking into it.

I live in Ohio. Rumor is in 2016 they're going to DOT#s only. Trailer inspection done at any trailer dealer?? They give you a sticker?

    Auto Hauling

Hello everyone. If I I'm hauling a 3 car wedge trailer behind a 1 ton dually less than 26k, do I need IRP? I'm confused about all the licensing options and just need to know what the heck I need to haul 3 cars interstate under 26k? Some people are saying to go Apportioned? I'm seeking advice...

    CAR HAULERS

I'm new to it so I guess I really don't know that answer. I did read on a forum that was dated back in 2012 that sleeping in your pickup didn't qualify as being in sleeper. I have talked to so many guys who do it that I assumed the rule had changed. I suppose I'll have to do more digging on...

    CAR HAULERS

Not sure if your asking me or crich this question. I'm planning on have a measured fitted piece of memory foam cut for my crew cab back seat. Buddy has one and said works well, although he doesn't stay out too often. I'm sure when I begin I'll ultimately base it on weather.

So when you were car hauling did you have an extra fuel tank in the bed of the truck?

    CAR HAULERS

Thanks for the responses crich. I have a lot of decisions to make. Conservatively, what would you say somebody just using Central Dispatch could make working M-F and staying regional? Any guesses?

    CAR HAULERS

Wow. Great response!! Some quality answers and info. I can't thank you enough. What is driveaway work though? Also, so you have an enclosed trailer and alternate between regular freight and vehicles? Nice! I never thought of that.

    CAR HAULERS

I have my class A and med card. Really don't want to lease on and let someone else control my paycheck. Plan on hauling any type of car I can. New, used, salvage, auction vehicles etc....I'm also getting lot of negative feedback about Central Dispatch. Thoughts on that site as far as a load board?

    CAR HAULERS

Because the truck I'm considering buying (2015 Ram 3500 6.7litre) is rated for only 31k towing capabilites.

    Cargo Van Van Purchase

Well, by the looks of it, when the time comes I better have some friends with this kind of knowledge and ingenuity lined up! I'm not the most mechanical person by any means, but I know for me to be successful there is gonna have to be some element of comfort to my truck. Till then I'm gonna keep...

    Cargo Van Van Purchase

Holy Cow. Great info and responses to my post. Through all my research it seems the Ford Transit seems to be best fit so far. Obviously go with Ecoboost. What are some of your sleeper ideas guys and gals? How about comfort on the road?

    STAY SAFE DRIVERS

I agree. I only know basic facts at this point. I talked to the Sheriff's office and when the investigation is complete I can get a copy. Supposedly he was stopped on a rural 2 lane state hwy in Indiana blocking both lanes. Why? I wish I knew, trust me.

    Try Hours

Just curious if your fleet owners name is "Guy"? I spoke with him yesterday about coming on board with him. He has 14 trucks leased on with Try Hours. Sounded like a pretty straight shooter. Hearing a lot of good things about Try Hours as well.
