One of the benefits of this business is obviously seeing the sites as you move freight. One of my favs was (and still is) visiting hot dog joints.

I should add that in the early 1990's in expediting, if the carrier was unable to get you a load by 6:00pm when you were away from your home - they paid you $45 a night for a motel room. At that time that would get you a clean comfortable room for that kind of money.

I really hate to read stories like this when most times these types of accidents are preventable.
From what I read the guy didn't have a Headache Rack nor did he properly brace it to prevent forward motion. This happened near Angola, IN on US 20.
