yep thing were terrible under you know who....LOL

Kroger's big $4 billion expansion plan

Kroger has big expansion plans in 2016.

How big?

Enough to build both the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and the Great American Tower at Queen City Square – five times. Enough to rebuild the Brent Spence Bridge – twice. Enough to buy Convergys and Chemed combined – not just the Downtown buildings, but both entire companies.

Kroger's not just spending a ton of money – if it were in $100 bills, the Cincinnati- based retailer would be spending almost 41 tons of money.

It's spending more than $4 billion to open new stores, expand or renovate old supermarkets and upgrade technology and logistics to support them.
Executives say their fill-in strategy includes helping newly acquired subsidiaries, North Carolina-based Harris Teeter and Wisconsin's Roundy's, execute –and accelerate – their previous expansion plans.

Kroger officials won't elaborate, but Harris Teeter was making a push into the Washington, D.C. market. With its more formidable financial resources, Kroger has already bankrolled a $95 million distribution center in Caroline County, Virginia, an hour south of the nation's capital.

But during the last 8 years companies were sitting on money not making a lot of big decisions. Seems like they are starting to loosen the purse strings for whatever reason.

Going to see a lot of this soon. Or the stock market is showing that. Trump has a gold mine to work with if he doesnt screw up.

I think it's rather funny they quoted Chelsea Clinton. Wonder if she commented on mom ducking bullets

She's gotten plenty of that on Twitter. She Tweeted out a snark about Bowling Green ("Very grateful no one seriously hurt in the Louvre attack ...or the (completely fake) Bowling Green Massacre. Please don't make up attacks."), and was just hammered about how her mom had to dodge sniper fire. One of them was something along the lines of, "Bowling Green was NOT fake! Your mother landed in Bowling Green under fire and had to keep her head down!"

After her Sweden Tweet, she was questioned as to just how smart it might be to piss off the man who could push strongly for, or completely back off, her mother getting indicted and going to prison. :D

Twitter is hilariously brutal sometimes. I'm glad I'm not on it.

Kroger stores are everywhere around where I live. They just opened a huge Kroger recently only a mile and a half down the road from another one. It's a huge store and directly across from a large Meijer department store. Meijer recently revamped/ remodeled their entire store as a response I think to Kroger opening up. Competition for customers between the two it seems.

How did a Kroger thread get hijacked Trump-A-Holics. Is nothing safe
A - It's in The Soapbox
B - It wasn't hijacked by Trump-A-Holics. Just because someone isn't anti-Trump doesn't mean they're a Trump-A-Holic.
C - The sarcasm in the first line of the OP set the stage and opened the door.

E. Kroger is my jam.

To add to my last post and stay on topic from the OP, yes, the Trump administration should be good for Kroger and other stores' success. :D

Imo, Kroger has gobbled up a lot of the 'grocery store' competition. So yeah, they have done a lot of expansion.

I would have to say that Hy-Vee is the best, except for a few of their older stores.
