I have a 475/550 Cat that gets poor fuel economy. I recently had it tuned up and turned up to the 550. The mechanic at the Cat garage said that my fuel economy would improve, but it hasnt. I've heard that other guys are complaining about the same thing. I only have 420k on this truck. Any hints...

I was there for two years in a D unit. I got tired of sitting for days. Too many trucks , not enough freight. They also have alot of short loads, and not enough with any miles. I would not go back.

I'm glad to see that Pa is finally doing their jobs. I am sick and tired of seeing junk running up and down the highways. I keep my truck in tip top shape, so why shouldn't everyone else! If those cry babies that get put out of service dont want to work on their trucks, go be a company man.

I generally found that the weekend loads that were loaded on Friday or Saturday generally went further, therfore paying more. I am considering changing companies. I work for a small local company now. I was with with Panther for about several years,and was unhappy with sitting, so I found a local job. I'm now ready to stretch my legs again. What company would be the best for a single driver, of a D unit, to sign on...

The same thing happened to mine. I spent 50 bucks to have it checked and it was shot. My advice is go to Lowes, Home Depot, or Wal-mart and buy a fridge that will fit in the same spot as the old one. You can get a descent fridge for under 100 bucks.
