    Satellite TV for the truck

We switched from cable to satellite a couple of weeks ago and my wife ask the installer if I could have TV in my truck from a satellite dish. He said, if we buy the satellite box ($75) and a dish ($25) and I figure a way to mount and position it that it would cost us an aditional $5.00 per...

    Reposition milage

I guess we still have a misunderstanding. I'm a driver of a D unit. I Put myself in service on Monday morning and sometimes get a load and sometimes don't get a load. On Monday afternoon I call dispatch and ask if I should move and they say yes. So I move to a Pole Barn that I own down...

    Fuel prices- Again

Why isn't there some standards like there used to be with the $1.25 base? Could we raise that to $1.50 as the base and set a standard of 15mpg for vans 9mpg for ST and 5mpg for E class? Then the current $3.50 would be $2.00 divided by the above mpg's and that would be it. It's never it though...

    Reposition milage

    >IF it is under 250 miles one way it would not be considered >as a days out, it must be over that mileage inorder to >claim it. OK, I pick up a load in Cleveland, OH and deliver in Saline, MI. I'm 171 miles from home, so I go to the Pilot at x 3 on US-23 to wait for my next load. I pull...

Class 8 owners how's your mileage?

On the subject of cost per mile... Last year (I think) Overdrive had an article about cost's, and they divided them up into 4 or 5 catagories. Fuel = 39% Profit = 36% Truck payment = 14% and the remaining 11% was for Lic, Ins, Maint. etc. In the catagory of fuel, How many of you (especially...

    Super D unit

If you go to a single axel trailer wouldn't that defet the reason for the longer trailer? I know - longer trailer means more freight but shouldn't it mean heavyer freight (if avalible) also? If you have a single axel would you have to put dollies on the back?

    COE vs Conventional Cab

Flatbeddin: Does your 9800 have the steps in front of the front wheel and a condo roof? I just saw a 9800 with the steps in front but don't know if the other 9800's with the steps in back of the front wheel has a flat floor also. Also do the flat top cabs have a flat floor also as long as they...

    Super D unit

This thread is where I'm going with the thread on "turning radius". A KW K100 with 170" WB hooked to a 28' trailer would be about 41'. Add the extra feet for a 30' or 32' or 36' and you can still drop and go through Micky D's drive through. My next question though is how stable is a short...

    front axle capacity

According to MI's. Bridge book we're only supposed to have 700lbs. per inch of width of tire. Is it different in each state?

    Turning circle radius

Does anyone know what tractor would have the best turning radius? Somewhere on here something was said about the T600 haveing a tight radius, and it seems like I read that the Volvo does to. So if you had a Volvo, KW T600, Argosey, Int. 9800 CEO and a KW K100E all with the same wheelbase (165"...
