stolen van AND MY DOG 2 YEAR OLD YORKIT

I feel bad for them and do hope they find everything. When I drove and had my dog no one would come within 10ft of the truck. He was 60+ lbs of pure dog that would not hesitate to destroy anyone that came into the truck that wasn't suppose to. Liability for me? yes but my truck was safe.

    Anyone see this yet?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that this was old news. I just saw it for the first time last night on the news. It's been about 5 years since I drove truck so I've been out of loop on the current happenings for awhile. Just thought I'd share it. For a team I don't see it being a problem but for...

    Anyone see this yet?

Proposed Rule: Hours of Service of Drivers - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration It was on the news last night - the FMCSA is proposing going from 11 hours to 10 hours of driving. At 1 hours less per day that is 30 hours less every month that someone could drive. At 55mph and .30/mile...

    Permit question

I stand corrected - the GCWR on the 09 F350 is 26k - 15k pulled trailer, 17,700 on a 5th wheel. So then I wouldn't need to deal with permits or fuel tax, just my DOT/MC number and insurance. The F450 on the other hand, GCWR is 33k, 16k pulled, 24,500 5th wheel. I think that's a tad overkill...

    $1500 a Month??

If you're going to team I would really reconsider the 40/60 and go 60/40 + 100% FSC. For example sake - The truck gets $1/mile For 1,000 Miles it got an AVG .30/mile FSC The truck AVG'ed 8 mpg Fuel price $2.00/gallon 40/60 The truck makes $1.300 (1k x $1 + 1k x .3) You get 40% of...

    Permit question

Alright, I'm thinking about starting to do hot shot work - I did some small stuff with my little 1/2 ton and loved it. So I'm thinking bout buying a nice F350 and going heavy. What do I need to consider when it comes to permits, etc? The truck would weigh in at about 13k, and I can haul up to a...

    Would you take this run??

I would of taken that for sure. A load to AK is a very rare thing and to get that much pay is great. Planing on riding my motorcycle up there in the next few years personally.

    US Express Suprises Drivers

Well look at the classifieds on here - there is rarely a posting looking for a solo driver, mostly ads asking for someone to team with their current solo driver. I'm a soloist, always have been and will be. Who in the right mind is going to go get into a truck with a complete stranger, living in...

    Another Dog related question

I understand the irresponsible owner thing, sure a dog can do a lot of damage but think of the damage a irresponsible smoker can do - burn down the **** truck by falling asleep smoking. That seems a lot worse than have to clean a huge mess. Dunno, may be it's I'm a responsible pet owner who took...

    Another Dog related question

I didn't want to hijack the last thread to ask this so... Why do some carriers, if you lease or use their trucks, charged upwards of a $500 non-refundable deposit for having a pet yet let a chain smoker go at it for free? Hands down, no question about it, a chain smoker will destroy a truck...

    The Puppy Project

Well I would have to vote for a springer spaniel, or a breed of springer. Most don't get too big, mine is around 30 lbs. Doesn't shed much, very very loyal - very useful cause you can have him out of the truck not on a leash. Just a thought.

    Need a good laugh ?

Though a good laugh is good, it's not when it's at someones misfortune. I haven't looked myself but I did post some stringent requirements when I was looking at going back. Why? Because I've been screwed before, know what I want and don't want to mess around. Just being straight forward, not funny.
