Milage restriction = income restriction Tell me how many miles the load is, and then I tell the dispatcher what I will need to get the load there safely and on time. I know it doesn't always work that way, but it keeps me informed of the mph avg they are expecting me to maintain on that...
OUCH!!! Biting your tongue can be painful. Got a lot I could say about all this BS, but I try to minimize the drama and trauma in my life. So for now, in the words of Forest Gump "that's all I gotta say bout that."
This is the second company I have heard of recently that is stating that their insurance company will no longer cover them if they have drivers that drive for multiple companies. Trucking industry was deregulated by the government years ago. Now it seems the insurance companies are picking up...
Lots of good input from seasoned and experinced drivers John. Myself, I do like the ability to take the longer runs, but I also have enough experience to know my own safety limits. As stated in an earlier post many variables come into play. One that was not mentioned was the higher speed limits...
''I can do better than this at home doing telemarketing or going door to door trying to talk people into vinyl siding." Acquitted, I feel your pain Bro. This is the only job I have ever had where the costs to operate continue to go up, but the pay continues to go down. I'm not even going to try...

Michelin is the best choice by far. Great mileage, traction and ride. Might cost a little more up front, but in the long run you get what you pay for. Have always gotten at least 130k out of mine.
Well said Guido. I could run till the wheels fell off,....provided I run cheap freight. Not gonna happen. We only hurt ourselves when we do that. I have deadheaded out of some of the tougher areas rather than take it at half rate. It's not worth the wear and tear on my equipment.
Computer literate Turtle. Just too busy makin $$$. Little break in the action as I'm currently OOS having the van repaired and some preventive done. Hope to be back at it next week. Safe travels to ya buddy.
I like my 08 Dodge Sprinter 170 Extended. I end up hauling more cargo van loads, but also have the extra room when needed. Can't say enough about being able to stand up to get dressed and the extra living space while laying over to wait on the next run. Personally I wouldn't have anything other...
