Michelin is the best choice by far. Great mileage, traction and ride. Might cost a little more up front, but in the long run you get what you pay for. Have always gotten at least 130k out of mine.

Well said Guido. I could run till the wheels fell off,....provided I run cheap freight. Not gonna happen. We only hurt ourselves when we do that. I have deadheaded out of some of the tougher areas rather than take it at half rate. It's not worth the wear and tear on my equipment.

The last time I drove the PA. and IN. turnpikes I figured they should have paid me. They are both a miserable excuse for a road. A delay due to a flat tire or bent tie rod is a very real possiblity on these so called turnpikes.:(

Thats the beauty of free enterprise. If I as Sprinter O/O chose to hold out for a higher rate and risk losing that load that is my prerogative. Thats my choice under a no forced dispatch. Certain areas of the country cost me more to run a load into, ie: road and bridge tolls, higher fuel costs...

In my humble opinion, if you do not have alot of patience in this business, you will not suceed. Find something to occupy your detention time. I find that the wait is only half as bad when I'm getting paid to eat lunch, take a nap, read a book, surf the web, you get the picture. In the words of...
