How are things going this year?

I see what you’re saying but there is a big gap between fair and what the market will bare. For example I ship full truckloads from Omaha Ne all over the country, we have a local (National) TL carrier who had rates around $2.95 per miles on their company trucks, but we had several brokers who...

Cincinnati Chili: Do it the RIGHT way!

I think it’s a preference, I had Skyline and it had kind a cinnamon taste to it which didn’t seem right. While I didn’t care for it the others I was with loved it. Being raised in Texas and now living in the Midwest I prefer mine Hot and Spicy…..James Coney Island was good back in the day, great...

    Laredo/Mexico

I walked over into Nuevo Laredo last summer and it was OK, it was in the day so I felt a bit safer and I only took $25 and my license. The exhaust fumes almost choked me out :) I am not sure it was a smart move but I stayed for a few beers and and an hour of people watching. I was afraid to eat...

    On the right track?

I live in Omaha and worked for Werner for several years as a Logistics Manager on the non asset side (Werner Global Logistics) but I did see the driver turn over problem at Werner. The Driver Shortage

I have been on the Transportation side and the manufacturing side and one constant I always see….we ask carriers to lower rates every year, fuel and maintenance for the carrier always seem to be on the rise and regulatory complexities add to the carriers issues. The flow seems to travel downhill...

Is it better to get the job first?

Just curious if its smarter to get a truck first and then get a job or find out what type of equipment is needed. I am looking at getting a straight truck but I would hate to purchase anything and not be a benefit to the company I am looking to sign on with. Observation to Companies, I have...
