The Trump Card...

I agree about Trump. That man belongs in prison. His deeds are unforgivable. I'm not talking about forgiving or having compassion for Trump. I'm talking about empathy for his many supporters, the majority of whom I believe fell under Trump's spell and will come to understand that after the witch is dead.
Perhaps those that can show the error if their ways, I can have sympathy for.

Will Cuba Be Our 51st State?

During a White House news conference yesterday, Trump said, "I do believe I will be having the honor of taking Cuba. That's a big honor. Taking Cuba in some form." When questioned about this, he added, "Whether I free it, take it—I think I can do anything I want with it, you want to know the truth. They're a very weakened nation right now."

Taking Cuba, with all its problems does not sound very "America First" to me. People who monitor Trumps declining brain notice the disinhibiton Trump here demonstrates. Raw, self-centered imperialism. No concern whatsoever expressed for the good of America. Pure focus on his ability to exercise power because that is gratifying to him personally.
Although I really dont have a position on a 51st state, that really should be Puerto Rico if anybody.

Trump Has Lost the Initiative

I woke this morning to this headline:

"Iran targets UAE energy infrastructure as gas field set ablaze, tanker struck near Strait of Hormuz"

Trump can continue to bomb Iran all he wants. The Revolutionary Guard is firmly entrenched and will remain so. Regime change is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future, no matter how many leaders they kill. The US Navy will not send it's ships to certain death in the Straight of Hormuz an, despite Trump's pleas, no other nation will either.

Iran does not give a s**t about what Trump has to say about when the war will end. Trump has no good cards left to play and Iran knows it. Iran alone will decide when and how the war Trump illegally started ends.

I agree. Those who can't see and admit they were duped by Trump have a flawed grasp of reality. That will result in them going to prison, or retreating to their private fantasies where, with like-minded nut cases, they will play dress-up and have their sovereign militia club meetings in the woods, out of public view, mind, and influence.

I'm not going to put a lot of time to this, but I do wonder, what exactly does Trump have in mind to do with Cuba if he did somehow manage to take it?

Also going to prison are those who broke the law and trampled on the rights of others in Trump's name or under his influence. This includes certain ICE agents, but also hundreds of others who committed illegal acts while masquerading as public servants. The Democrats are already planning their commissions and investigations. Some have been keeping a careful inventory of the violations and violators.

This will not take long. Following Trump's firing her on March 5, top Democratic lawmakers formally referred Kristi Noem to the DOJ for a criminal investigation into potential perjury and making false statements under oath. Bondi will ignore the referral and Trump may pardon Noem.

But the point is Democrats are not going to wait around next time or drag things out. Trump will not be around to pardon people forever. Even if he blanket pardons everyone in his administration state-charges will be pressed. If the lawbreakers are in the Trump administration are not now afraid of prosecution, they will be as time and Trump passes.

Trump Speaks About Gas Prices

On Feb 24, in his State of the Union Address, Trump said, ""Gasoline, which reached a peak of over $6 a gallon in some states under my predecessor and was, quite honestly, a disaster, is now below $2.30 a gallon in most states, and in some places $1.99 a gallon. And when I visited the great state of Iowa just a few weeks ago, I even saw $1.85 a gallon for gasoline, the lowest in four years, and falling fast."

On March 8, on Truth Social, Trump said, "Short term oil prices, which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A., and World, Safety and Peace. ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY!"

On March 12, he posted on Truth Social, ""The United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money."

Observations and Questions:

1. Trump stood before the American people on Feb 24 and lied to our faces. On that date, the AAA national average gas price was $2.98, not the $2.30 he claimed.

2. Do you agree that your higher fuel price is "a very small price to pay" until the Iran nuclear threat is over? Also, how will you know it is over? How long must we keep paying this "very small price?"

3. Trump's billionaire oil industry buddies do indeed make a lot of money when fuel prices rise. How much money do you and I make, when we are standing at the pump filling our car or truck?

Related:

Today, diesel prices reached $5.04 a gallon, up from $4.78 a week ago and from $3.65 over a month ago, according to data from AAA.

Epstein Files Update

Today, articles of impeachment were filed against Attorney General Pam Bondi. The articles allege that Bondi has willfully defied the Epstein Files Transparency Act by "slow-walking" the release of documents and using "improper redactions" to protect political allies.

On March 16, Bank of America reached a tentative settlement with a group of Epstein survivors. The bank was accused of "willfully looking the other way" while billionaire Leon Black moved over $170 million to Epstein through their accounts.

The search of Epstein's New Mexico ranch and adjacent public lands continues. Among other things, officials are looking for the bodies of two foreign girls allegedly buried there. They are also inspecting structures to see if their floor plans match the victims' descriptions of the buildings. Their purpose is to factually document the layout. The established layout facts can then be used to bolster or undermine the descriptoons' credibility, depending on what the facts turn out to be.

Hegseth's "no quarter" Iran talk alarms legal experts

Looks like he is campaigning for the War Criminal of the Year trophy.

Hegseth will sing a different tune when he is charged in the World Court for war crimes. He is already complicit in the murders of Venezuelan boat operators. His lack of concern for international law will come back to bite him, I believe, and hope.
