The Trump Card...

2 years and $100,000 ya hard time there.
The January 6th committee is a joke....
The crimes the jury convicted Bannon of are misdemeanors. Hard time was never a possibility and never contemplated.

I'd be shocked if the judge sentences Bannon to the max (2 years in jail and $100,000 fine). I'm expecting something far less, but it does appear Bannon will be sentenced to at least 30 days in jail.

Bannon plans to appeal his conviction to a higher court. That's an interesting strategy. When the higher court receives a request for an appeal in a case where the defendant presented NO DEFENSE, what do you think the higher court will do?

Bannon wined that the defenses he wanted to present in court were disallowed by the judge. That may be the basis on which the appeal is made. But if the higher court agrees with the lower court judge that those defenses were irrelevant to the case, to jail Bannon will go.

He seems ready to do so.

He said last night, "If I go to jail, so be it.” (Source)

Bannon will lose the appeal. The court is stacked with Obama judges. The same judges that ruled that Judge Sullivan could prosecute a case in his own court room after the defense and the DOJ declined to continue. So if they can do something like that, they certainly will affirm. The Supreme Court may take the case and rule the other way, but by that time Bannon may have served his time, unless the Judge gives him a long sentence because that is what DC judges do to Trump supporters.

It SHOULD be much less than that for a conviction. We are told that the Left was for criminal justice reform and against lengthy sentences for non violent crimes. This is a non violent misdemeanor. But I sense instead that the Left wants more time than the maximum. Because they view Bannon as a supporter of Trump and they are unhinged and corrupt because of their hatred of him.
Yup foam at the mouth Democrats over trump and anything to do with him.
It would not surprise me at all if Bannon gets the full 2 years.

It's funny you think they won't sentence Bannon to the full 2 years and slap him with a $100k fine

What ever happened to Eric Holder after being cited for contempt of Congress (Fast and Furious)? Wasn't that a first for a cabinet member?
Right. Holder wouldn’t turn over requested documents. Held him in contempt. Obama stepped in and exerted Executive Privilege. But they weren’t asking for documents between Obama and Holder. But still used it so Holder wouldn’t turn over documents. And a DC judge agreed. Apparently Executive Privilege only counts when the Left uses it, even when it didn’t have nothing to do with the documents requested. Dems got it good.

About the same time the Bannon story was breaking Lee Zeldin was attacked while making a campaign speech in NY. The assailant had an edged weapon and should've been charged with felonious assault if not attempted murder. Instead, he got a misdemeanor and was released with no bail. There's something seriously wrong when the charges and consequences of a criminal justice system are based on politics rather than the rule of law. There's no better example of this dysfunction than Democrat controlled New York.

The perpertrator was arrested a second time, this time on a federal charge and he's in jail now. The following explains why he was released the first time:

"Due to the class of felony allegedly committed, under New York law, the presiding judge couldn't have set bond even if they wanted to, Hurley previously told CNN. In 2019, New York's bail reform law eliminated cash bail for most misdemeanor and non-violent felony charges, and Class E is the least serious class of felony." (Source)

That's messed up.

The weapon was not an edged weapon according to the source I cited. But that should not matter much. The guy was undercharged and released, and that's messed up.

Here's another source that provides a picture of the weapon. It doesn't look like much until you get hit in the neck with it.

Looks like Felony Assault at least. A device that is advertised as a weapon too. And it was inches from his neck. 2 pointy tips could have did serious damage to him.

Where did you get the idea it was an edged weapon?
The first picture I saw wasn't as clear, so it appeared the edges were sharpened. That's apparently not the case but it's irrelevant. Stick those two points into soft flesh with blood vessels close to the surface and you've got a messy mortal wound. As a side note, an old fashioned ice pick isn't edged either but it can be a very effective weapon. I still keep one in my pickup just in case...

Democrat double standard.....
Let us not forget about Trump’s former advisor Peter Navarro who was arrested by the FBI for contempt of Congress. He wasn’t allowed to voluntarily show up to get arraigned.( He was communicating with the FBI before his arrest and lived close by) He was handcuffed at an airport, frog marched, shackled, and was put in John Hinkley’s cell. A 72 year old person with a clean record and charged with a non violent crime. Double standard is correct.
