Recently while traveling in our personal vehicle we needed a hotel room for one night. Our daughter suggested stopping at a La Quinta Inn and were we surprised. We stayed at the La Quinta on the south side of Dallas and there was no pet deposit and Texas’s weight was not an issue. The best part was that the room was very reasonable and again to my shock NO pet deposit. There were rules about having parties in the rooms and about noise but pets are welcome with opened arms as part of the family. One warning, second warning would have you being escorted off the premises with no refund. I can handle that rule.

In My Opinion.... Have pets out here while Expediting is just Financially Dumb ...
I understand the companionship with Pets and we have 3 little dogs that are in/out of the house .. plus 2 cats outside ..
But while Expediting.. you are Limiting your Dispatchers and yourself to certain loads ...
No GM loads ...
No Power Plant loads ..
Etc.. others
Just something that Drivers need to think about ... LOST REVENUE....
Plus extra costs of Pets while on road ... running AC .. plus heat for pets .. when not in vehicle ...
And then there is the NUTS ... who turn you in for Cruelty to Animals ...

To me its simple ... leave your pets Home ..

We have had both pets and no pets in the truck and revenue has been the same. We have done a lot of power plant loads, refineries, and nuclear plants. No problem with our pets.

I guess it depends on Carriers and their Customers.. i know Active Aero/RRE tells drivers in orientation ..

For me cats seem pretty clean and low maintenance. Dogs seem to be more maintenance. For me over all, I just wouldn't want the extra hassle to care for something JMHO.
