Do we have free speech for everyone or just for those that we agree with?
The push is on for criminalizing hate speech. The problem is, who gets to decide what hate speech is? It inevitably comes down to offensive speech. If we can outlaw hate speech from the right, we can outlaw the hate speech from the left directed towards Trump, as well. Whoops.

Can you imagine what things would be like right now if that women killed by the kook in the Dodge Challenger had been black instead of white?:(

SNL's Weekend Update Summer Edition should probably just be renamed SNL's Easy Cheap Shots At Trump, because it's the same, tired old shtick, uncreative and mean-spirited.

However, one absolutely brilliant spot was Tina Fey. She's a card-carrying liberal, but she hilariously cut through the partisan politics and the lame shtick and just skewered the things that need to be skewered, and did it with intelligence, humor, sanity and pragmatism.

The original video was deleted, but here's pretty much just her bit.

Trump is going to disappoint a lot of people on his way down and out.
Possibly. But more likely, unless he does something that turns his base against him in large numbers, the Left and the Media will be blamed for what it is, an unrelenting undermining coup d'etat. If that happens, things are going to get really bad.

Trump will always have a body of people who remain loyal to him. To this day Nixon loyalists can be found. So too with Ross Perot loyalists. While both these men crashed and burned as politicians, their respective bases persisted to a degree. They persisted but not in large numbers and not in an organized and politically effective way.

As time passes, some loyalists age, fall ill and die. Others, feeling betrayed or disappointed, turn against or abandon the object of their loyalty. Still others lose interest or find something new and different to be loyal to. A good number of Perot loyalists are Trump loyalists today. When Trump loses his ability to influence America, many of his present-day supporters will find another person to cheer and support.

Steve Bannon voted off the island.

This will please the MSM and The Left. They will even characterize it as a victory.

Maybe but so what? What real difference does it make if the MSM or left is happy or not?

Bannon's departure is not going to change Trump. Nor will it prompt the left to be better organized. It will not erode Trump's base much if at all. It will not improve the level of trust the public places in the MSM. Bannon critics wanted that man out but how much influence did he have really?

It influences the narrative they choose to present, as it vindicates their demonizing of Bannon. They've been going after the people surrounding Trump, one by one, to try and chip away at Trump.

This was supposed to have happened two weeks ago, but Trump decided to listen to members of the Freedom Caucus when they urged him to keep Bannon in after Priebus was fired.

I belive that as much as I believe Bannon had no idea that a telephone interview with a liberal news publisher would be off the record.

Best comment I read: "Well, thanks to Scaramucci, we all know how Bannon will be consoling himself tonight..."

The media has been after Bannon since he appeared in the campaign. Their criticism had little effect. When Kelly became chief of staff, lower level "alt-right" proponents became less numerous on the Trump team. While there is no way to know, I'd credit Kelly with Bannon's departure far more than the MSM. It did not help Bannon that his Breitbart friends went after Kelly's brother in arms McMaster.

If there is an identifiable trend in the Trump administration it's that the generals are taking over. McMaster is in. Bannon is out. Political operative Priebus is out. Kelly is the Chief of Staff. The Pentagon is rising to make rare political statements against Trump's Charlottesville remarks.

They'll focus on getting Sessions out of their again now.

It's had a major effect. They've managed to convince the world that Steve Bannon is an antisemitic, racist, alt-right white supremacist (even though he's none of those things), and by association have crafted the narrative that Trump is, too. Just because it didn't have a direct effect on the outcome of the election (there were most assuredly people who didn't vote for Trump because of his association with Bannon) doesn't mean the narrative isn't successfully fomenting distrust, dissent and hatred for Trump.

Just because it didn't have a direct effect on the outcome of the election ... doesn't mean the narrative isn't successfully fomenting distrust, dissent and hatred for Trump.

Trump is himself doing a fine job of fomenting distrust, dissent and hatred for Trump, and a far better job of it than the MSM could ever hope to do.

Had he taken a real vacation and done nothing more than play golf and keep his mouth shut, he'd be far better off than he is today. His daily approval polls generally bump up when he does not provoke Trump-harmful controversy, but provoke those controversies he does.

Curious, I Googled to learn more about Breitbart.com and found this interesting tidbit (Source):

“Breitbart News is the #45th most trafficked website in the United States, according to rankings from Amazon’s analytics company, Alexa.com,” they wrote on January 9, 2017. “With over two billion pageviews generated in 2016 and 45 million unique monthly visitors, Breitbart News has now surpassed Fox News (#47), Huffington Post (#50), Washington Post (#53), and Buzzfeed (#64) in traffic.” A month later, the site had even greater cause to celebrate. “Breitbart News is now the 29th most trafficked site in the United States, surpassing PornHub and ESPN,” they crowed. In the article, its staffers bragged that their bonkers traffic reflected the site’s cementing a permanent place in American politics. “The numbers speak for themselves,” said Solov. (Many outlets, including The Hive, experienced traffic peaks around Trump’s inauguration.)

Just a few months later, the numbers have a different story to tell. As of May 26, 2017, according to Alexa.com—the same web-ranking analytics company that Breitbart drew its numbers from in January—Fox News is the 64th most-trafficked site in the country. Huffington Post is at 60. Buzzfeed is at 50. The Washington Post, on the strength of a series of eye-popping scoops, is at 41.

Breitbart is in 281st place.

Funny video. Just once though I'd like to see SNL really go after the Left's idiocy. They have plenty of material, but they rarely go there. They just don't want to.
They could make a skit of Trump repeatedly having press conferences disovowing all hate groups and condemning violence adnauseum but the media hysterically demanding him to condemn over and over again. Oh well in the meantime there is always a Mark Dice video.
