Have you tracked how many of those that attend, W/O experience, actually do enter the industry ?

That data would be held by the carrier. But it's more than just that - we have new trucks on location and others want to speak with other companies - so we have a group of people in the business already coming for other reasons.

Yeah, I knew that. Kind of like a mini-truck show.

I may visit one if in the area.
Don't expect to change carriers.
Don't expect to buy another truck.

Might learn something and would get to meet Lawrence. That's enough motivation for me.

I went to one of the Seminars when I first got into Expediting, in Knoxville and it was a good informational event, lots of newbies and T/Ters looking at the trade....enjoy folks....its looking like a busy year...

If you ever attended one of our workshops (which it sounds like you have not) - the quality of the people tend to be above average. Typically, these are the people who do months if not a a few year's research and buy trucks like Cascadia's and other high revenue producing rigs. Since they've taken the time to prepare and educate themselves - they seem to be the most successful in this business, just from the feedback we receive from drivers.

Lawrence is right. When we did the workshops those who were there were mostly those who had done research and were pretty knowledgeable about what was to come. We fielded very good questions, and we miss doing it. We had a great time helping others, new and old. It was a great feeling recieving messages from those who did end up entering the field, with A majority of them ending up in straight trucks.

There is a lot to be learned, not just about entering the industry but about trucks, business plan/model ideas, as well as meeting other drivers. Everyone always has a different insight on things and it is great to hear them.
