Simple test, start truck then turn on the microwave for a 2 minute cycle check voltage on the dash readout of the truck, start rigmaster, if the volts don't pick up after the generator starts then the alternator on the rigmaster is bad.

im betting this is the problem.

May not have to turn on the microwave. Turn on ignition key but do not start the truck. Should show 12 volts on gauge. Start generator and that should go up to at least 13 or 14 volts. If not, alternator or lines to it need addressed.

We havent had a chance to do anything with it yet. We were in blizzard snow earlier in the week, and couldnt get underneath to check the breakers. Thankfully the reefer is set up to charge the batteries as well. We will be looking at it while we are home over Christmas. Worse case senario, we order the alt for $104 shipped to the house from newegg and he replaces it.

Thanks.

With 5 things running on the Soapbox, I was looking for something to stimulate my mind.

With LOS home for the Holidays, I've taken his spot as the bored guy.

Not bored enough to get on the Soapbox.

When I think of RANDOM and LAYOUTSHOOTER in the same sentence it never has to do anything with a font. :)

that 104$ alt. was it a chinese brand or was it a denso ? if chinese, give it about 6 mo. either way those little alt. stand rebuilding pretty good and they seem to last atleast for us. my " battery specialists " rebuilds mine with heavy duty parts for 130$. this one is going on 2 yrs. and the way we use it thats good,

We ended up going to Espar of MI to have it taken care of. With the near -40 winchill Nick was not allowed outside to even attempt doing anything. We had it done on Monday as well as the glow plugs changed and a tune up. We went to the truck every few days to start it up and check on it while we were off.

Now I have another question.

Has anyone had an issue with it not blowing hot air??

It is blowing warm, but not nearly as hot as usual. Am thinking maybe it is a bit low on coolant??

If it's too low it shouldn't start.
Checking coolant is first thing I'd do.
Also go to the part in your side box. Make sure it has air flow around it. Also there is a washable filter that snaps off.

The owners manual/ trouble shooting guide is/was on the rigmaster website.

If your owner has a good quarter explain to him the benefits of the Onan/Espar combo.

It's about as good as it gets. :)
