$8.78 an hr?? How does Walmart trick these employees into working there? They are making billion dollar profits, meanwhile half of thier employees are getting Food Stamps and Medicare? And they are only giving Christmas bonuses to the cashier who gets the most Credit Card sign ups (25 dollars) what a joke.

You would make a very generous business owner.

If I was the Waltons, I could be paying atleast 30 to 50 dollars an hour, and still pull in huge Profits. Not sharing the Wealth will come back to haunt Walmart.

It's not Walmarts responsibility to provide a wage for employees to live on.... A drop out from school probably doesn't deserve much more for unskilled labour ...if you can't live on it... Go back to school and or get another job to help their budget. It sounds awfully liberal/ unionistic of you to support the living wage scenario...

Guy is 30 years old.

Walmart has taken enough heat that they offered him his job back.

Leo ... I just read the link .... Walmart has reconsidered and brought the employee back.....

The original story didn't have that...just that they fired him. I'm glad they updated it...

It's good that they offered it back to him, but it should have never happened.

Yes, I saw they offered his job back and that's good but it's still a black mark against them that it happened in the first place.

I always find it interesting when people try to portray business as so bad they speak of overall company profits then compare it to a single persons pay for one hour. Can you imagine what even a .25 cent per hour raise for every employee would add up too? Any idea what their actual profit margin percent wise is?

Corporations can't win....if they approve of this mans actions and say he gets overly aggressive as deemed by a civil court they could be liable for their employees actions when the accused sues Walmart and that employee....and cost them $$$$'s....
at the same time a right minded person just can't walk away either.....

As far as wages go....went to a Boston Pizza chain restaurant in Edmonton Alberta...minimum wage $9.95....medium pizza's START at $24.95...then you can add on the toppings....
Ontario 10.50 looking to go to $12.00.....case of 24 Pepsi 11.95

your theory on corps pay more is flawed...the more they pay the few...the many will suffer....
