You've been duped by a variant of Facebook prank (actually a variant of a false premise that was ignorantly posted to Facebook).

For starters, Uniform Commercial Code sections 1-103 through 1-108 have nothing whatsoever to do with privacy or confidential information. It has to do with the laws governing electronic commercial transactions and validity of electronic signatures.

Second, such a statement in no way transfers ownership of your profile, pictures or comments to you from OnTime Media, who owns everything posted to this site. Before you can create a profile and post anything to it, you must first agree to site's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, part of which explicitly states that anything you post to these forums becomes public information and you should therefore exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Similar legal-sounding warnings didn't work for software, music and video pirates, and it doesn't work for any other Web site, the above warning statement in particular. If only it were that simple.

Common sense should also tell you that you can't post something in public on the Internet and then later claim it's private information, because by definition something which is private, is not public. Once you post something in public, you can no longer have a reasonable expectation that it will remain private.
