Post office cannot make a 5.5 billion dollar payment tonite on retirement benefits and in September they owe another 6 billion , so there. Where is the accounting majors now, you know , debits and credits. We have no one in Washingtion that knows what they are doing and we pay taxes to these nerd birds.

So Mr. Businessman, why do you have to work in a budget and the government does not? Now that said, lets take off the rose colored glasses. The government does not have to balance a budget. Cities are going broke, bad budgeting, government services are going broke, no budgeting.

I know the colleges teach accounting and finance, don't they?

You smart businessmen and women know we are collasping from within and it will go on and on till all is gone.imho .. Negative thinking, no , reality thinking............

We will see more and more of this as the years pass. We have no way to pay for what we have borrowed and continue to borrow. We have a congress and an administration who are hell bent on doing this country in. They are winning. WE are in serious trouble and the 'gemmie goober' and 'do gooders' keep crying for MORE and MORE freebies. Those who pay for those freebies, can no longer afford to pay for them. I mean really, I have a few choices, pay MORE taxes or reinvest in my business. The "takers' just don't get it. They are putting the 'makers' out of business.

THis is Congress fault they passed a law that only the post office has to follow no other govt agency or private business. The law said the post office must fund future retirements out 75 years from the current year

Why is it that government agreed to these pension plans decades ago and did not start funding them from day one? When I was in government I paid 7% of my gross to my pension plan. The DOD did NOT match that funding relying on future payees to fund it. That plan failed just as most of the other government plans are failing. Also I, nor anyone federal employee from that plan, can collect SS for those years.
