UAW presence?

The right to work campaign has a long long way to go and if it were to happen, it would be nothing short of a miracle at this point.

Well, the best ideas often start off as radical pipe dreams. The fact that this legislation is already getting as much play as it's been getting is a vast improvement, in of itself.

Well, now, wait a minute. Sir understand it, there are a couple different things in play as far as right-to-work. Are you talking about this eliminating the prohibition on replacing striking workers permanently? Because I think that's federal thing.

Right to work, last I heard, was the opposite of employment-at-will, which is what's needed to correct union abuses, and the only true model for a free society.

So which are you talking about?

Reading the article would have answered your question. However, in a nutshell, "Right to Work" means "open shop" in which union membership is optional as opposed to "closed shop" in which getting hired on is contingent upon joining the union(in entities in which there's a union presence).

Ironically enough, the Federal Government(which employs one of the right to work movement's greatest foes) is an "Open Workshop". That means new employees can decide on their own whether to join the union. In fact, they must opt in to join as opposed to having to opt out.
