Can't people just help and not concern themselves with tax breaks....yikes...makes you wonder where there true intentions are.....
Yeah they can, and no it doesn't. People can, absolutely, just help out and not concern themselves with the tax breaks, but within the context of this thread, as the tax breaks were a part of the premise (or, the sales pitch to get people to help), then it cannot simply be ignored. And no, it doesn't make you wonder where their true intentions are, because it is rational, reasonable and prudent to take into consideration the costs of giving to charity. It wouldn't make sense to give more to charity than you can afford, so all costs need to be taken into consideration.

Having said that, I too wonder why all the secrecy.

"Listen to XM 166 June 24th midnight to 5am with Bubba Bo, then it will all make sense to everybody what we are doing!"

Four weeks? We have to wait for four weeks to find out what we are going to be doing? Or is that four weeks before we hear the recap of what we've already done?

"We are just getting trucks and manpower in place to get
everything ready to roll!"

Huh? You're asking expediters, expediters mind you, to plan ahead and set aside time to do something that we don't really know what it involves or when we're going to be doing it. On top of that, you say it's for a 501(c)3 non-profit, but refuse to name the organization, and if that wasn't enough, you say we'll be able to write off more than the IRS allows for charitable deductions, and won't elaborate on how that's possible. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that people are asking questions and are looking for more information.

Hey Turtle, Lawrence McCord will have all the info next week and there is a reason why the charity is not being released! If you do not wish to get involved thats fine! If that be the case it is none of your concern! People that need to know will be well aware whats going on!

As far as the IRS write off, the information we were given when we talked to the IRS this week, is the milage write off for the transportation of these charitable donations was considerably more tha .14 cpm! I personally don't give a crap about any write offs and will not be taking any! All I was asked if we could get EO and some expediters to help if they could! Lawrence McCord was contacted Friday and I explained to him what was going on, we will be getting him and the rep. from T/A hooked up next week and we will get this project going!

MANIAC, set aside all this non sense, we will wait for the announcement and are ready to go when they are. Personally, you can have 4 of our tractors for whatever is needed. We also have bulk clothing ready, we have clothing resale shops and the material that does not sell will be forwarded for this effort if needed. Thanks for the opportunity to help!
